Play Legendary. It may seem hard at first, but once you realise the mistakes you are making and learn to correct them (and never do it again), you will become a better player.

Play through the game on Heroic then. If you have already done that, you should be prepared for Legendary. There isn't any quick way to become an expert Halo player. There is only practice, practice and more practice. Keep trying though, you will get better. Just don't give up.

Try the rockslide megabattle on easy, then work your way up. If you don't know the rockslide megabattle, here's what you do:
1. Go to the level "Halo",
2. Continue the level as normal until you come out of the tunnel.
3. Go to the place where there was a rockslide.
4. As soon as you see a covenant drop ship arrive, leave.
5. Come back later, and there will be tons of enemie.
6. Try and kill them all!
"Gotta kill 'em all. Covenant!"

There is several ways you can improve on your own time. I'd suggest first going to the multiplayer maps and going over them, figuring out where everything is, the powerups, the rocket launcher, whatever weapons you choose to use. If you can hook up another controller or two and as you look around the map remembering places try to score three headshots on your nonmoving enemies, don't kill unless you get it in three.

A nice way to improve your aim is to set your sensitivity to 10 and play through Campaign on either Heroic or Legendary. This will help your pistol and sniping aim a lot, you can move it back down to 4 or 5 once you've practiced enough and it should tone down your shot.

Lastly, if you're smart enough you can remember the spawn times on the maps, and be beside the overshield or cammo each time one of these items spawn, it should make it a lot harder on your brother having to fight you if you have one of these advantages. If you wanna know anything else mail me at shadedhalo@yahoo.com and I'll be glad to help you out.

PLAY YOUR BROTHER. They best way to get better is to play people better than you. My friend still beats me but not as bad as he used to. He used to win ever time like 12-50. Now its more like 48-50. Dude, play your brother as much as possible. {:()

The only way to improve is to play, no matter if it's campaign, or multiplayer, it doesn't matter if you get your ass handed to you. The old saying is practice makes perfect and in this case it rings true.
When I first bought Halo it was because a friend already had it and we used to play once or twice a week, he stomped me every time. So after I bought an xbox and halo I played through the campaign mode. After I finished the game I played him again in a hang'em high slayer pro match.
The final score was 25 - 2 me. I totally annhilated him, he refused to play against me for weeks after that.
Nowadays its not much better, I still win all the time against my friends (like my 25 to 11 to 8 win I had last night)
but not so easily, but anytime I think I'm slipping or my friends are figuring out my strategy, I just pop in Halo, and play through the campaign mode.
