I would appreciate it if you would read the WHOLE thing before commenting on just the first paragraph.I was watching the most recent interview with Brian Jarrard and I noticed something while they were changing maps. The map description for Crater shows up as "Fight in Dare's sunken crash-site."

Please notice the architecture and features in this screenshot from a Firefight match on Crater. Highlighted in red notice the red rectangle on the wall next to a number next to a red pillar. Highlighted in green is some weird structure. Now notice this picture from the Campaign Highlighted in red is the same red rectangle, a number, and red pillar. In green is the same weird structure. There are a number of other similarities but that it enough to prove that it is the same area. Based on this information it seems safe to assume that the drop pod in the second picture is Dare's drop pod. Whether she is in it or not is speculation.

UPDATED THEORY: Now if you will notice, in that second picture it is daytime. Most of the flashback occur during the day a few hours before you wake up. If you have seen the achievements (I'm not going to link to it) one of the achievements says that if you beat the Tayari Plaza mission, you unlock Buck for Firefight. Based on this, I believe that the scene in the picture from the Campaign is Buck's flashback and since he and Dare used to have a thing for each other, he went to search for her. Also, this probably means that Dare crashed in Tayari plaza. If you look at a picture of the city map, on the left hand side are the locations where you can find clues that trigger flashbacks (this was said in an interview). If you notice, Tayari Plaza is one of the places where you can trigger a flashback that will most likely give you some insight as to what happened to Dare.

Don't take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyways.

Interesting Theory!

Maybe she died in her pod. 0.o

It is what it is.

My real gamertag is Boomerf16.

Yeah, that makes sense. The drop pod could be a flashback item in itself, like the broken detonator (or whatever it is).

In one picture the number is on the right of the red square and in another the number is on the left and i think they are different numbers

You know those days where you wake up and you just don't want to get out of bed? those days when you drag your feet across the floor like a zombie? yeah, I'm having one of those days.

im going to stop coming to these forums now...speculations are making me think things and think about if shes dead in the pod and i dont want to be right about somthing like that before the game is even out...it will ruin the surprise and experience...i will see you guys after i complete ODST...until then have fun trying to ruin the story for yourselfs before the game comes out

I know, but they are similar so it is in the same general area.

This makes sense along the theory of her dying.

  • 07.29.2009 12:27 PM PDT

I've thought this for a while, but feel different about the final paragraph. I think the footage is a flashback, and you are likely playing as buck as dare is his old flame, and you help her escape her pod. Not enough info to prove/disprove either theory.

you can piece the two pictures together (minues the brutes and the ODST)
screen shot for the firefight being the left side
screen shot from the campaign being the right side.

Notice the same obelisk like stone structure in the raised grassy platform.
Also look at the first picture, the one i think is the left, there is a tall building with a letter J on the top of it. Infront of that building and lower down, is another building, with two red lines, and a yellow screen on the right of the rightmost red line.
Now if you look at the picture that i think is the one on the right, you can also see the same building with the red lines and the same yellow screen as mentioned before.

Meaning the two pictures are just two different views of the same area (at different times)
Also, the picture for the right, the one with the drop pod in it, has shattered the floor.
Look at the picture for the left, you can see that the floor is uneven, like the tiles has been shattered and misplaced.

Edit: Sorry i couldnt get the links to work, but you can find them in the first post of this thread.
