For the last month or so, everytime I play Halo Combat Evolved, the game freezes and I have to reboot my PC. I have been playing for a year with no problems but now it happens every time.

I updated my drivers and it didn't fix the problem. I uninstalled and re-installed the game and it didn't fix the problem. I did a complete scan for viruses and I have no viruses.

Does this have anything to do with the last Halo update?

Please help! Thanks in advance.

My PC:
2.0 Ghz, 768 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti 4600.

Yes, I run spyware and it doesn't look like that is the issue either. Thanks for the reply.

It probably is the update. If it worked up until then, that's a pretty good indicator. If it's not the update though, do the standard fix-it (reinstall), and try again. If that STILL doesn't fix it, you're in deep -blam!-, and probably want to talk to sexy legs davis.

Did you have any firewalls running? Certain firewalls do strange things to games. Try turning it off while playing (if you have one).

No, no firewall running.

I am only guessing it has something to do with the update because of the timing of my issue but it looks like no one else is having this problem. This is a tough issue to resolve!

I hope you get a answer to your question because I'm having the same problem.

Hi all,

I changed some of my video settings in the game and it's working fine now. Don't know why I was able to put every setting to its highest level without any problems before but if I do now, the game freezes. Destroyer1, try different settings within the game to see if that solves your problem.

>_< NEVER SAY THAT!!!
omg makes me want to cry...
unless youre using norton... in which case it is better to have it off, cause it blocks so much -blam!- that you want to be unblocked.

my suggestion: Zonealarm firewall. game works on internet and so does server with firewall on. i actually have 2 firewalls on and servers work fine
