I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

I disagree. Halo's gameplay requires the use of a true, living, breathing, hand on the "CAUNTROALLOR". The thing that makes Halo unique is the fact that you play in full 360 degrees, getting around without pre-programmed motions (unlike hiking over a wall, you actually JUMP to get over it). Jumping is a function no AI has ever truly mastered. In Halo's "CAHMPAIHN", enemies are programmed to climb on top of things, not jump, this is because Jumping AIs don't work unless "PRIE-PROWGGRAMM'D" to make a jump (and if they were, the AI would become predictable)

I know, the Multiplayer map design in Halo Games would provide too much limit to AIs (Put an AI on Guardian, he will NEVER get around.)

Artifical intelligence would be interesting when combined with actual players. They would suffice as replacements for cowards who flee the battle prematurely. They may even make fine testers for creations in "Forge." Or something simular.

I would love bots, if anything just in custom games-- I could use target practice offline; easy testing for all the weapons.

Do you sincerely believe the technology doesn't exist, or is unavailable? The heavens are the limit! I fail to see your logic on this matter.

To this day no game has provided me with Multiplayer AI that Satisfied me, Bungie likely feels the same, which would explain their lack of the use of Bots in all Halo games to date.

No, they would lower the enjoyment of the game and act as extra baggage to whichever team had them. They wouldn't be able to communicate like human players, so would be incapable of helping in any team situation and especially any objective gametype. They would not be able to discern when to hang back and let the enemy attack or push and attack the enemy. This last one is just my opinion, but i doubt that they would fight as well as a human due to what i have mentioned before but also because of the lack of AI capabilities in todays technology.

All are unsatisfactory, and unnecessary. A waste of disk space. If this game truly grows from what Halo 3 has created, AI will have no room to breathe.

Just imagine: You attempting to eliminate a foe with your Sniper Rife, then a Hunter pair charges you from the side! A.I. would alter the course of a battle in unique ways.

All that disk space could go towards something more useful, like a Spectre, or Jiralhanae multiplayer skins, or perhaps the ability to use every weapon on every map. A Sangheili Campain? Maybe even extra Multiplayer Maps.

Perhaps improvements in technology can lead to such a high amount of data capacity it will not even be a cause for concern.

Xbox's disks don't change, neither does their capacity, Halo 3 already took up most of it's disks space.

I personally dont think bungie would be able to put AI into multiplayer or matchmaking it would taake to long and they would have to modify the online gameplay all together.

took me a second to get EREEKAHNS, thats the hardest one youve ever done. Anyway, Recon Armor is the SAME AS OTHER ARMORS, and WOULD BE MISSED.

  • 07.29.2009 6:49 PM PDT

How is recon armor relevant? I do not understand.

Than I will not waste my time with this petty argument. We disagree on the matter, thats that I suppose.

Death to rank junkies.

AI in custom games would be great.
