happens to the best of us. i request the topic name be changed to "can the flood even appear in ODST?" =3

its possible. im still a little concerned as to how the covenant are still there after their ship just left, completely demolishing the city. i understands that the odsts were in drop pods, but the covenant? maybe they hid in refrigerators...

nah, they were all hot dropped in like the helljumpers, with fridges.
Brute in the main part, grunts in the freezer part.
though it depends what kind of fridge we're talking about here.

but wheres indiana?

i dont know. with the economy the way it is, i highly doubt the covenant could afford anything very accomidating. probably didnt even have power door locks.

No. I read somewhere that the ODSTS use airtight suits. The flood cannot infect ODSTS.

Masterchief has an airtight suit.

if they couldn't be infected, they couldn't be killed, because nothing could penetrate their suits.

Unless their suit ripped open. Of course they can be killed. They can get mauled to death by the flood. They just cant get infected unless their suit gets torn.

Edit: Forgot the Master Chief has an Airtight suit part.

Someone above said that in the book The Flood master chiefs neck armor was torn off and was really close from being infected.

in halo wars your spartans cant get infected...

Why wouldn't they be able to they're not superhuman and even spartans can be infected by the flood.

Ive never heard of a Spartan getting infected in any of the books, and definently none of the games.

someone went over this already.

Only the Halo Wars cut scenes followed Halo Canon. Game play, not so much.

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

Anything with enough calcium and a hackable nervous system is fair game for Flood. ODSTs are just as vulnerable as any human including Spartans.

Maybe they got really big industrial meat freezers and dropped like four of those, and those are all of the troops.

Ive never heard of a Spartan getting infected in any of the books, and definently none of the games.

No Spartan besides the Chief has ever encountered the Flood and gone on to tell about it. Obviously the Chief isn't dead.... yet. He is just lucky and had Cortana save him.

5 years and counting on Bungie. I feel old and worthless.

They would be able to penetrate the armour. They can penetrate unshielded MJOLNIR Mark VI. MC's armour.

That because most of the spartans in the books (1-3) and games did not see the flood once. Actually I think only MC has fought them. Linda was in a Cyrotube during the whole Ordeal on Halo.
So its true, not one has become infected because not one has died in the hands of the flood.

but that doesnt mean they cant become infected.

kinda like, just because you have never had a cold doesnt mean you cant catch one.

thank you aziland. you just saved me a lot of typing. i thought we solved this matter already?

well if they did use industrial freezers, im sure packing flood in there would have made the ride all the more uncomfortable for the brutes...well, ex brutes.

Have you seen the Elite drop pods? They DO look like freezers... tube shaped freezers.

1 in a billion to survive having the disease. so it would be unlikely that everyone had it, or used that many Plasma grenades as Johnson to get it.

haha, thats a lot of grenades

You mean what Johnson has?
I thought that was a combo of carrying a box of live (not armed) plasma nades, smoking cigars, and being a badass.

I can Haz :D

Right, let's end this here. If a infection form can infect master cheif in his armor then a infection form can easily infect a odst whether or not their armor is airtight.

  • 07.30.2009 10:21 AM PDT
