We are in need of one, desperatley. I was thinking more along the lines of killing for EXP, Better your K/D gets, faster you level. Things like that. It is possible and it would be much better than the Win/Lose thing. It aggrevates alot of people.

We need a system that looks at individual performance. It can't be entirely K/D because that doesn't proves everything. Things like assists, being the vehicle driver and capturing objectives needs to be accounted for.

A detailed ranking system sounds pretty good, it could all be measured out right? Like kills for 10, assists for 2, wheelman for 2, objective for 25, KotH or Oddball for 1 per second. Double kills and so on for twice the points of regular kills, and killing sprees giving you points for the amount of points you get for the kills (a second time). And other medals can still be recognized but not given bonuses, maybe killjoy deserves something.

This would be like CoD 4, but more detailed which means it improves on that system and makes it its own.

There could also be social playlists and special playlists that count for some things.

Also winning games can give you 100 or maybe depending on the game type.

Yes but to make this system skill based deaths and betrayals would have to be negative points. Losing would also have to cost you points but not enough to ruin good performance on a bad team. It would however be enough to ruin a bad player on a bad team. Bad players on a good team would get decent points but their negative performance would take to an extent probably enough to drop you bellow Good players on bad teams.

I'm sorry, but Halo 2 ranking system, with Halo 3 ranks implemented. Win makes your rank up in Skill, win makes you gain an EXP.

Maybe go to 100.

Oh man your right, I missed that. Also taking the flag from it's spawn, and having it be returned (if nobody else picks it up) should also count negative. And losing games should be -50 or -75. Dropping the oddball could make you lose half of the points you get for picking it up and holding it (in EXP but not in game). Example would be holding the ball for 10 seconds, and dropping it, so you only gain 5 exp. That could be the perfect ranking system. And people could actually pay attention to the objective.

Losing an objective should cost points but not that much.

Actually, nothing for the winning and losing games, that should be recorded though.

I think you would have to get +/- points for winning/losing to make team work and winning important.

I guess, it's a little bit confusing :). Team Work is important, probably best to let Bungie decide the values.

Yeah but hopefully we see a similar concept in the ranking system.

(Boosters get banned from having EXP lol)

A fate worse than death with the mentioned EXP system.

Halo 2's is absolutely perfect. The current ranking system does not allow for improvement to be shown. You get rank locked when you start losing too many games which at that moment probably would be your true skill. But if you start getting better you can't rank up because you are rank locked. That's why with halo 2's ranking system, when you get better you start winning more games and go up until you reach the level where you can't win as easily and that would be your new rank. If they went with a similar H3 system in reach, I think it would be a huge mistake.

i think the ranking system from halo 3 is unfair i played teamdubs with a friend and we win 30 games without loose i had after this games a rank of 38 (with a other account) ive a great k/d rate to level 43 1.70 so but a otehr acc i check out @ bungie.net had 25 games win withot loos hes got a 50 WHY ( sad face ) :( he wasnt better then me he dosent have a better k/d or someting so i dont understand this. i love bungie and halo 3 but i think halo reach need a better system maybe like in cod 4 only without looking how much shotz you make and how much miss not become too exactly. AND PLEASE DONT MAKE classes. so i hope you can read this cause am french cya

Definately not. As soon as this happens, it stops becoming a team game. New ranks i feel is needed, and the ranking system needs to be changed.

They should go by a point system but it would be different from moat games as discussed above.

Things that would earn you experience:
-kills
-assists
-medals
-capturing objectives
-winning the match

Things that would subtract experience
-deaths
-betrayals
-losing objectives
-losing the match

Kills earn you more points earned then deaths subtract.

Capturing objectives would earn you more points than points lost loosing objectives.

So even if you lose the match you will still earn experience if your stats are neutral. If you do good and lose the match you still will earn a good amount of experience. If you do bad enough you will lose experience from your total experience. This ranking system would make both individual skill and teamwork mandatory to gain lots of experience.

"I'm not camping, I'm lying in wait..."

You simply can't have one rank across all gametypes. If I loved to objective and played nothing else for ages, and was good at it, I could get a great score, but still suck at slayer. If I then went into slayer, my rank might look like i was great, and would get 30 out of my teams 50 points. It would unbalance teams. I think a lot of your ranking ideas are great, but they have to be split up over gametypes. And I don't mean playlists, so in Squad Battle you have a certain rank like now. They should have a ranking system for CTF, whatever playlist it's in, and a ranking system for oddball, and so on.

Fact 2: European guys are hotter

I guess I can understand if you don't want to make out with guys in the US if they're so ugly, you should just say so though.

That encourages camping, hiding, and the exact opposite of teamwork. I'm ok with the ranking system we have today, it's better than a linear one because deranking was way worse that second accounts. The system we have today still encourages teamwork, because if you're good and your team is bad and you lose, it's everyones fault, So it will make you want to use more teamwork and help them get better so your team can grow better and play better as a team.
