Since part of, or the entire city of New Mombassa is going to be open for exploration I am wondering if the buildings we'll come across within the city are going to be full or at least partially explorable since in many games they do not make the buildings explorable because it requires having to make layouts for buildings instead of just making them textured polygons. One would hope with a game of the caliber that Bungie is known for that they would not do this and will put the effort into making the buildings interactive and not just blocks in the way of where you need to go.

Given the release of the Vidoc which shows a brief glimpse of an ODST utilizing the Superintendent system to bring up a map of a part of the city it would seem that it would be fairly advantageous to be able to travel on the roofs or sniper from a window and things like that. This being the case especially so since we no longer play as the Master Chief and don't have his sense of invincibility so more stealth will definitely be required.

Anyways, what does everyone else think about this?

Maybe at least the buildings during Flashbacks will be explorable.
Like the ONI Building in Alpha Site, for example.

I remember a clip of one of the Bungie podcasts talking about an experience with hunters. It involved climbing a ladder into a building, so I'd assume so.
