Apparently your reading comprehension is not all there, I didn't say that it necessarily irritates me. It's just annoying.

No thanks. Halo's controls are great because everything is smooth (no bobbing up and down when moving) and nothing shooting does not affect your aim (no expanding crosshairs).
Maybe because we want Halo to have some sort of realism? You don't -blam!- glide through the air when you run or crouch walk. Bioshock did the best crouch walking I've seen in a game. Your head actually bobs up and down when you crouch walk. Don't believe me? Go crouch walk; you're head will move, and your vision will bob. When you're running, the gun hardly moves at all. It should be like Bad Company or any of the Battlefield games. A mixture of Bioshock's "bobbing" vision with Battlefield's gun movement would make Halo: Reach awesome. The crosshairs should expand slightly, not like in CoD. It should expand slightly less than Bad Company's since you are a super-soldier(?).Go back in time to when you were 6, enroll yourself in top-secret Spartan training and undergo the intense bio-chemical augmentations, put on some MJOLNIR Mk V armor and crouch walk. Tell me if your head bobs then. Otherwise realism isn't an issue for Halo.
Wow.... I didn't know that undergoing military training changed the way a person walks. It doesn't matter if you were in the military, you still walk the same. Sure your posture is different, but that doesn't change the fact that when you crouch walk, your head doesn't bob. I'm also sure that when fighting, the last thing on your mind is to keep your head from bobbing. Also, the MJOLNIR armor would make more of the bobbing effect since the armor just adds more bulk; thus, you have to compensate by moving your legs higher.
