Hmm, I thought all the minor details make a game (MLG Cheehwawa). Why not include this? Cheehwawa wants a speedometer, why can't we have simple realistic effects?

a speedometer would be aesthetic.. it would not effect gameplay in the slightest, unless you counted knowing what speed you needed to splatter someone. and trying to go through other forums to validate this was very low.

I didn't go through other forums to validate anything. So I'm regulated to this thread only and am not able to look at other threads? I looked through every thread on the front page of the Halo: Reach forum (except the old ones) after coming from the Flood. I'm pretty sure that I didn't look at his speedometer thread just to validate my statement.... I like how you think you know me.

Edit: How would the bobbing effect affect gameplay? In Bioshock it doesn't. Like you said with the speedometer, it's just purely aesthetic.

i never said i knew you. this thread is about crosshairs not about a speedometer.

and if head bobbing was aesthetic it really couldnt bob.. because it would have to not affect gameplay.. aesthetic is just for looks like all the armor permutations in halo 3. if my head moved it could make someone miss a sniper shot. or i could have a moving screen.. both effect gameplay

Have you ever played Bioshock? The crosshair doesn't move. If it doesn't move, then I don't see how it would affect gameplay. If the crosshair doesn't move, you have no excuse for missing a shot other than you suck. Aesthetics in games are objects that do not pertain to gameplay whatsoever, so in a sense, the head bob would be aesthetics.

Let me guess Halo 3 was your first Halo game and you think it would be super 1337 if Halo was another generic shooter?

nope i probably wont ever i hatedd the demo
and i said if i miss a sniper shot because someone elses head bobbed.

if you want this to be like bioshock so bad.. go play it.
if there is one thing i want you to learn and hear.. halo fanboys hate change. and bungie will not change this game to suit your needs, they will keep it the same because thats what makes money and thats what it really is abbout. plus a majority of the players want it to be halo also. so sorry no halo: bioshock for you my friend

Spartans have mechanical strength. Mechanical strength can hold an automatic weapon in place. Assuming in the future they would have better recoil reduction that is even more reason why nothing affects aim for the Spartans. Halo is actually a fairly realistic game when you look at things. The only problem is weapon range is very minuscule compared to what weapons can do in real life.

Vancouver BC, Canada.

Let's not turn this into Call of Duty.

The crosshairs should expand slightly, not like in CoD. It should expand slightly less than Bad Company's since you are a super-soldier(?).

Just because they are super-soldiers doesn't change the fact that the weapons have recoil. Look at the SMG; it climbs because of the recoil.
So, why not have the crosshairs move? Those just invalidated your points.

The SMG recoil never made sense. Its most likely one of those "it works for the gameplay so -blam!- the canon" things. My argument still stands. With the Spartans strength a weapon would always remain accurate. They literally have the strength of a machine.

because its not call of duty.

its a different genre and a different style of shoter all together.. just understand your arguing for something that will never happen in a halo game. I promise you will never see it in any game with halo in the title from bungie.

Strength does not directly relate to inaccuracy. The inaccuracy comes with the gun; guns get inaccurate after you fire them, and even before you fire them, the accuracy rating is not perfect. The weapon has recoil; just because it's the future doesn't mean that guns don't have recoil. Your point is invalidated, once again. Also, recoil =/= inaccuracy.

So, according to your logic, a game that has the crosshairs move is automatically CoD? This is just proposition; the vast majority of the community wants Halo: Reach to be different. We don't want it to be just another generic Halo shooter. Just to let you know, Bungie looks at the Call of Duty games and other games as well.

No wonder this is a fruitless argument. I'm not talking about the character's head moving, I'm talking about your screen. Once again, I repeat, the character's head in game is not moving, just the screen. And a typical fanboy remark: "Go play such and such if you like it so much." That is so easy to counter. Is it so difficult to implement it into another game? No. I'm still going to play Halo: Reach anyway, but I would just like to see it implemented into another game besides one. I am, in fact, playing Bioshock right now as I have yet to beat it. It's kind of hard to argue with a fanboy since they are so simple-minded.

Here is a video showing how the head bob doesn't affect gameplay (I missed those shots because, yes, I suck at Bioshock): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJWLoqv6B4Y

Once we have this, then the characters need to have less health, the weapons need to be more realistic, and so on and so forth. Each game has there own parts that make it fun. Squeezing out the last shot midair after jumping down a 3 story builing is something you cant do anywhere else. No change.

Halo is the greatest game series because of its combat. You can jump around firing a weapon and see no penalties in accuracy. By moving that fast you actually get the advantage of being hard to hit. Changing that would literally make it NOT HALO. Go play something else and stop trying to take a big steaming -blam!- on a good game series. Go play something else NOW!

no theres R6V 1 & 2, Ghost recon. there are a lot of games. just CoD is the game that most new halo "fans" want to turn halo into.

no thats wrong. the vast majority of the community wants a halo game. and if you knew anything your talking about. halo has been relativly the same since halo 1. Thats what halo is a simple easy shooter that is not complicated and everyone can pick it up and play it.

this is bungies last halo game. They would never do this to there fans for one. and two they have not changed the system drastically since.. well never. halo will stay halo not some copycat shooter you want it to become. fail.

If the vast majority doesn't want Halo: Reach to be different than the generic Halo shooter, then, please, tell me why are there so many threads about additions, changes, etc?
Also, did I ever say I wanted to change Halo into CoD? Way to generalize the community....

Ooh, fanboy getting all mad. I never said I didn't like Halo 3 (you can tell by my 5000 games); all I said is that this might be Bungie's last game of the franchise, and we would like something different for once. I like Halo 3 and how the reticule doesn't move. I'm not complaining about that; all we are doing is proposing for something new as it has been the same for four games.

What logic do you have behind Halo:Reach needing to be very different? If you don't want another Halo game don't buy one. Halo needs to stay the same. After four nearly identical games when it comes to gameplay they obviously need to keep the gameplay the same because that is what is successful.

Did I ever say I wasn't going to buy this game? No; really, fanboys need to stop with "Don't buy the game" argument. I'm going to buy the game, regardless, because I am loyal to the Halo franchise. I just don't see why we can't see a little bit of change. The gameplay isn't what makes people buy the Halo games... it's all the fanboys buying it and all the hype behind the games.

By head bobbing do you mean it would be visible on the HUD, or just on the player model? If its on the player model I'd be fine with it, but if the HUD did it, its not just aesthetic, it affects the gameplay (your aim would be affected by crouch walking or running).

A little bit of a change is unneeded. Halo is fine where it is. Whats all this talk about fanboys for? I never said any other game was trash, I just like Halo where it is at and think your'e a -blam!- idiot for wanting that to change.

No, just the HUD. If they incorporated the character model's head bobbing, I would complain like it was the end of the world. Not too much bobbing to make it seem like you are a seizure, but just a little since, yes, they are trained, and their posture would be different.
