work hard. snipe harder.

I was reading "Halo: The Fall Of Reach" and i realized that Master Chief is probably not going to be in Halo: Reach. In the end of the book, when the Covenant is attacking Reach, Master Cheif is in space trying to disarm a UNSC ship so the covenant don't find Earth, and he sends a group of different SPARTANS to protect Reach on the ground . If you watch the trailer you will notice at the end it says "Sir, we have SPARTANS on the ground. We're not going anywhere." This is saying that the game is more than likely going to take place as the sqad of SPARTANS that dropped to Reach.

Read "Halo: First Strike", Chief does return to Reach and sees some combat at the bottom of Castle Base.

there are 2 major flaws to your theory
1. he doesnt return with multiple SPARTANS.
2. In the trailer it says "From the begginning, you know the end" which means it will take place during the attack on Reach not later down the road.

This means Master Chief is not likely to be in Halo: Reach

Death comes to those that are not me. (JK)

He actually might be in it. But you never know,,,

I believe Master Chief will make a cameo, but will most likely not be playable.

If you read First Strike, you'd realize that Chief DOES go back to Reach, and rescues the remaining spartans from CastleBase. He sees VERY little combat, but he is there, he does fight, and he is with other spartans.

true, but if he is in the game there will probably be more combat
The game could even follow the Chief's ride to defend the MAC cannon, and also include the combat on the surface, similar to the Master Chief/Arbiter story in Halo 2, which would be pretty awesome and give the story quite good depth in spartan history

Chief is back before Reach get totally annihilated, so you never know...

work hard. snipe harder.

the trailer said "From the end you know the begginning" meaning it will almost definenatly take place on the ground while the covenant is attacking reach and the end of the game will be when Chief finds the first Ring

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”
