What exactly is Firefight?

If you ever try and fail.....erase all evidence that it was you who tried

Gears of War: Horde Mode
Left 4 Dead: Survival Mode
Call of Duty World at War: -blam!- Zombies

There you go

Endless survival mode. It's like Hoard from Gears 2. Covenant come at you in waves, skulls gradually turn on, limited ammo. It's basically ODST's multiplayer.

"Dear Bungie.net, we regret being stubborn bastards, we regret coming to this forum, and we most definitely regret that Darth Kooky blew up our raggedy-ass opinion!"

Firefight is a cooperative game mode that supports up to 4 players at a time either through System Link or Xbox LIVE. It plays similar to Gears of War 2's Horde mode but changes it up considerably. You and your 3 buddies grab some weapons and wait for the Covenant masses to drop in for a visit. Except they don't want tea and scones, they want you dead. Endless waves of Covenant are dropped in via Phantom Drop Ships and each wave is random. You could be fighting Grunts and Jackals, or you could fight 30 Jumppack Brutes with Jackal Snipers and 2 pairs of Hunters charging at you. But every fifth wave, Brute Chieftains will be dropped, no matter what. Depending on the map, Wraiths will be dropped in too and start firing at your position as only Wraiths can.

After every wave, you get some more lives added to your Life pool which you share with your teammates and ammo and health packs are restored where you spawned in. There are 5 waves per round and there are 3 rounds per set. After a Set, a new skull turns on, adding to the difficulty turning Legendary into living hell and you'll want those Brute Plasma Rifles handy sooner or later or else say goodbye to your session of Firefight. Firefight never ends and you could play for all eternity as long as your electricity bill is paid for, you have a bathroom close by, and food and drink never run out. That and if you never lose all your lives.
