Some call me the Michael Schumacher of Warthogs.

Awhile ago, Bungie told the tale of the Halo series in a podcast, telling us that CE was intended to be T, but after the ESRB saw the Flood, went straight to M.

Since there is no horrible zombification and limb-chopping in ODST (At least, I don't think there will be), why is it still rated M? Language? Bad Company has "Strong Language" and manages to pass for a T. Blood? Republic Commando has blood squirting on visors and that still keeps T.

Why M?

Foul Language, Blood, distressing scenes, and -blam!- references involving Romeo, that old rascal.

I don't play much anymore.

Because of our online community.

I kid, of course.

Maybe they'll bring back the idea of Brutes ripping the arms off of marines like that were gonna do in Halo 3:

*looks hopeful*

It didn't stop them before, and it won't stop them now.

That's always a good reason.

As a great man has said before "..." That is where the truth lies my friends

Because there is flood, they appear in an in-game internet experience as a pop-up, that gives your computer a virus. Other than that, I have no idea, Maybe we actually get to hear some foul language. It's possible, I mean this is a new type of a Halo game so anything can happen.

Steam: RageRunner32 | StarCraft II: RageRunner | Lets play Pc sometime :)

I know it's unlikely, but don't rule out the Flood. Remember the game is played through flashbacks, and it's entirely possible a suicide mission to stop the Flood from reaching Earth or possibly a record or video of the infection seen in the game warranted the rating.

Regardless we don't know what content the story's going to bring and there could definitely be M worthy material in it. If anything I'm happy, I don't want Bungie to cut elements of the game to try and reach a rating.

It's not like the rating will effect sales anyway, Halo's majority child user base will still follow over to the new title so the rating doesn't really matter.

It doesn't stop all but it make it so there's less.

For a game to be rated M it needs 3/4 of these:

Blood[Check]
Gore[Not check(Since there isn't flood to blow to bits)]
Mild language[Check('We are droping into hell troopers!')]
Violence[Check]
