If everyone in her is a genius, you should be able to figure out why the Elite doesn't die upon impact.
Now I wonder where did the stupid people go?

The pods might have impact zones, and engines at the front to slow down it before impact.
And maybe seat bets. lol

Maybe the drop pods have some kinda of huge spring or some super padding to help them survive the fall. It is also possible that Elites have much more durable skeletons and/or internal organs. One other thing. In First Strike the spartans free fall into the ground without drop pods they just use trees. Since the Elites have similar armor, one might think, an Elite could survive this fall. One other, other thing. It is possible these "drop" pods don't simply drop but actually have some kind of propulsion to slow them down.

The propulsion theory is a good idea, plus the spartans had better shields allthough it could be the pods have shields and some kind of formfitting hydro thingy system like a 1 use MJOLNIR

Elite/Helljumper Motto #1: Always buckle up before diving into Hell.

And the Elites pods have skins of dead Grunts on the bottom to cushion the landing. = )

Complete inertia. Like the stuff they have on Star Trek: The Next Generation (love that show). The reason why everyone on the bridge shudders when they are hit is because the inertia generators malfunction during a direct hit by concentrated ion-based weapons, which is pretty much what disruptors and phasers are supposed to be. Also torpedoes. Of course, the science is mostly sound. Some of it wacky. I dunno why they just have a sheild that neutralizes all charged-ion weapons, it's not THAT high tech.

Fixed a misspelling. I hates them, nasty little hobbitssess.

The pods are really empty teleports. When they land they are transported into them and they pop out like 2 week old zits.

Buckle up it's the law! Hey, they have impact zones, seat bets, air bags, and thrust engines to slow down the speed. Sounds good to me!

Ha ha thats my least favorite of them all. any way, There has been recent discoveries that it might be possible to create an anti inertia field. This effect has been produced by a device called the marcus device im not sure what the inventor calls it. Oh and heres something interesting the same device can also preoduce SHIELDS, which means we have a rudimentary shield system right now, the device also produces a slight anti gravitational field and can pull or push objects with great force ( tractor beams:) kinda. Any way that was kinda off topic but still cool
