Subject: I don't understand the relevance of the Brute Plasma Rifle

In Halo 2 the Brute Plasma Rifle was sort of the Brute's own half-assed answer to the PR's that the other covenant had. But in Halo 3 the Brute Spikers were introduced, which were pretty much finally a legit answer to the PR the other covenant had. So my question is why bring back the Brute PRs? It just feels like they were crammed into the game to up the weapon count. They are completely useless.

Am I the only one that's just completely aggravated by pointless inclusions like this, red drones, gold hunters, etc.?

Haven't played League of Legends yet? Why not?

An idiot got away with doing incredibly idiotic things because a group of idiots and their idiot leader put this one idiot in charge of a good amount of idiots who did whatever the idiot wanted done, and ordered around their own group of idiots. It's an idiot parade, and the leader totes a .44 magnum into war.

Yes. Gold hunters are win. Maybe they'll be more badass to, just like the Zealots in 2 and CE.

And so there was a man who ate cake.

And he was happy it was that way.

Since you can't duel-weild and the Brute PR put out around twice the damage of a regular PR, it makes up for the lack of duel-weilding.

PS Agreed, I can't stand all the stupid "Gold hunter, OMG!" nonsense.

I like the Brute Plasma Rifle because it's clearly a throwback to Halo 2 and the New Mombasa days.

If that was the case they might as well give us Elites to fight, especially since the Brutes didn't overthrow the Elites until Chief killed the Prophet of Regret.

To me it just feels like they are slapping a new coat of paint on the same weapon we already have and trying to pass it off as being it's own completely unique thing (a new color and a very slight damage/rate of fire tweak doesn't justify making a new weapon).

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Since the normal Plasma Rifle is used by the Sangheili (and on rare occasions, Grunts) it makes sense for the Jiralhanae to use their own weaponary as it is unlikely we'll be seeing the blue Plasma Rifle.

They haven't even mentioned it as one of the new weapons in the series, it was in Halo 2 as a modified Plasma Rifle that the Brutes probably liked better.

Since the blue Plasma Rifles aren't in ODST, I'm thankful that they brought it back, it replaced it.

It's not about creating a new weapon. It's making up for the absence of the duel weapon ability. In Halo 2 it had a higher damage rate but overheated much faster.

It has nothing to do with making a new weapon or calling it one, it's just meant to balance out the losses.

Been playing Halo since 2001. I know my Halo.

The BPR and the PR are balanced with each other. Its not worthless.

The BPR is strong, yet it overheats quickly, while the PR is weaker and overheats slower.

Maybe its just to give the lower classes something different to use then the spiker, bc the spiker gets boring fighting against, its slow and pretty easy to dodge, where as the PR's were a bit faster and a bit harder to dodge. its like the difference between grunts using plasma pistols and needlers, just something to mix up the game play a little.

Punch a bear in the face.

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

Boy it's been awhile since someone linked to Halo Crusades.

The BPR is being thrown in because some the other dual-wieldable weapons are being upgraded, and it's a perfect fit.

The SMG and pistol are getting a major upgrade, so why not throw in an old Brute weapon?

It's ridiculous how low you self-esteem level is compared to mine.

and how!

The Gold hunter is just the sunlight reflecting off the Hunter's armor. If you think that it is golden armor then you either need to actually pause there in the video or get your eyes checked.

As for why, in Halo 2 the Brutes only had one weapon unique to themselves, and a faster firing plasma rifle fit their crazed charge into combat and kill everything with disregard to their own health attitude.

What the hell? If the sunlight is in fact making the Hunter look golden then why should I get my eyes checked if I think it looks golden?

erAsed is RIPPIN

Once you go Black you never go back!

It's more powerful with the trade off of over-heating faster. Is it that hard a concept to grasp?
