If you've seen the new ViDoc (if you haven't, go watch it now!), you'll have noticed the fact that Romeo's sniper rifle's stand sways about when he moves.

Now, in Halo 3, the stand is fixed, so I'm wondering, (and yes, it's a tiny thing, but who cares!) if the stand will actually flap about like that in-game?

And so there was a man who ate cake.

And he was happy it was that way.

It may just be a cinematic animation, but It'd be nice to have that in-game. I play Battlefield: Bad Company alot and I love that feature, so hopefully they include it in ODST.

Yep. If you look at about 3:04, it's in first person and they move.

Most likely it will not flap... Romeo's just trying to be cool and leaves it unlocked (stupid really). Haha.

Wait a sec... didn't the stand flap if you melee with the sniper? Or when you switch to it? I suggest someone would quickly check that on Theater, i can't currently.

Yes, I'm the guy who had the Flood admit to being furries.

They sway in Halo 3 during the reload animation, when you put the cartridge in.

That's still part of the flashback animation, not what really happens in-game.

I think it flaps when you melee in Halo 3 currently... remember that ODST uses mostly Halo 3 animations for all first person.

I am human, I am good and bad as well. But I try my hardest to stay good. And some of the things I do and say may be bad. Or just not too good, but I do try.

So with that said I don't fault you. I mean your only human, good or bad.

Stat and Sig

i be cool since they fixed that i wonder if they show the ODSTs reloading

It'd be an odd feature at best. I never noticed it in Halo 3, so I probably won't in ODST. Unless of course, as some said, it's still part of the flashback scripted event.

Snakie Purple.

"Hamdog, Hamdog, Hamdog, Hamdog"-Hamdog.

Twatter

I think they added it as a little more a a detail. It's one of the few graphical updates, I think. Like how character movement is really fluid now.

Romeo=Huge jerk.

Are you talking about the scope guard? It never moves in Halo 3. To my recently play through.

Edit- The stand? Well I see it move when I melee with the sniper rifle. Just wobbles slightly.

It does move around, but not like it does when Romeo swings it around.

Romeo=Huge jerk.

It's obvious he's keeping up a "Tough Guy" appearence so that he can deal with everything else going on. He's keeping his cool.

Romeo's reaction to everything has a purpose, there's a reason he's such a "big meanie" or "huge jerk" as you like to put it.

As for the Stand swaying, I believe that was in Halo 3 too.

  • 07.30.2009 4:49 PM PDT

It flaps far more in this video than it does in Halo 3. I believe this is to help give Romeo and his specialty weapon more personality. He is a tough guy and a "jerk" who likes to run his mouth so his weapon needs some character as well. The wild swinging stand does that job nicely.
