PM from Equus Asinus: "Calling me a moron for somthing wich you have no part in is stupid. Maybe if you used proper grammer I would feel you as a threat. But, I think you owe me an apology."

I've read the book a couple of times and as I recall the encounter in space was far more interesting (as fighting goes) than the ground fight on surface. I mean, it will all be something new and great...

But the way that Keyes kicked ass with the Pillar of Autumn would have made any sci-fi nerd impressed. I'm personally most looking forward to that entire scene being portrayed during the cutscenes because in the book Keyes was made out as a tactical naval mastermind.

...and I hope we play as either Sam or Linda when they plant the bomb on the covenant battleship...

I doubt this game will follow the story of Halo: The Fall of Reach, though we will probably see a cinematic with the PoA and Keyes in it during the orbital battle of Reach, before Red Team heads to the surface.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

I hope they have cinamatics on the Space fight, the moment i see a Super MAC gun take out a covenant ship in one hit, my head will explode and become a black hole.

Cinematizing that space battle is the nerd equivalent of dividing by zero.

why the hell would you want to do something that boring. space craft would be thousands of miles apart from each other. the unsc space craft would have to fire as many missiles as possible hoping that a few of them get past the covenant laser defense system to deliver there explosive warheads. you would never see the enemy space craft except in the form of a blip on some radar screen

How do you figure that would be boring? There are plenty of examples of great cinematic sequences similar to the fight in The Fall of Reach. As I recall they weren't thousands of miles apart, rather they were fairly close during engagement. And the Autumn was on top of them.

And as far as the effectiveness of the fight, that's the point. When the situation is dire, watching the fight play out of far more satisfying.

I hope I've answered your question.

Ships have such things called as ''Cameras'' where, incredibly, it transmits the image that goes through the lens, so you could see the battle.

Anyways, it dosent have to be from inside a ship, it could also be from a distance or a probe/satellite thats oribiting Reach.

So your saying watching red blips on your radar isint fun? >:?

because there would be dogfights and maybe boarding oarties

space battles of the future arnt going be like freaking star wars. what i described as a space battle is realistic. space craft would be more like submarines. why would a captain need to look at a detailed image of the enemey space craft. she would be having ensigns and other deck crew members tell her all the information and she would bark out orders

Don't you mean implode, because last I checked you can't make a black hole with an explosion

Dude, this is science fiction.

And the story has already been written. I don't think that you're getting the point.

im fully aware this is science fiction. why are you telling me this?

i do get the point. your talking about space battles i respond by saying how boring and realistic they really would be. you could respond "oh well halos not realistic. it has 7 foot men jumping and shooting the crap out of dinosaurs!" well seven foot super soldiers is realistic. the military is working on power armor and due to improving nutrition humans will be able to grow larger. considering the number of planets orbiting stars in the universe theres a chance alien life has developed on them. theres also a chance that they could attack us for religeous reasons. islamic terrorist do it all the time

so the story has already been written. what does that have to do with space battles?

im not referring to captain keyes. im referring to any captain in charge of a unsc space craft

This is about cutscenes, not playing FPS games during space battles... There are a few moments of note that might be interesting, namely the one that I cited (incorrectly saying Sam instead of James.) I just really want to see the scene portraying Keyes for the genius that he was in the book, and it would be relevant.

I'm only sayin' this to you because you don't seem to get the point. It was relevant, it could be done, it has been done before, and it was part of the story.

It has to do with explaning how the PoA got away and what it was doing meanwhile the MC was aboard the Oribtal Station, it could be like a timed-mission, get the job done by time the PoA passes by to pick you up and avoid getting destroyed. Stuff like that.

MAC platform level on Halo 2 outside the airlock was awesome. Something similar in Reach would be great.

No, he means Jacob Keyes. He was in Fall of Reach, he was in Halo: Combat Evolved. A major character actually.

Unfortunately if the space battle was truly accurate it would be rather boring
if bungie holywooded it up a little it could be rather cool
a balance of realism and awesomeness is needed
and wasnt there just a huge thread about all of this yesterday?
