(Sorry if this has been done before. :)

I was reading MLG Cheewawah's (I hope i got the name right) suggestion on making Halo Reach a class based game, slightly closer to the Battlefield series.

Does most of the community want Reach to be basically an improved Halo 3 multiplayer (better graphics, weaker BR, newer weapons), or do you want this game to take the franchise into slightly newer territory? Cause I noticed that a lot of people believe doing so will take away from Halo what defines Halo.

Personally, I would love Reach to to slightly (note the word slightly) go Battlefield. Keep how the guns work in Halo (no spreading crosshairs), but put in classes that make players use some strategies. But I don't know about the rest of you.

(And looking at the Reach poster, there is a very high possibility the game will be class based. Look at how different the spartans are from each other!)

I would most like for the game to revert to a more competitive style game, like Halo 1, where all weapons are versatile so that one (*cough* BR *cough*) doesn't become over-used and overpowered. In order for this evolution to occur, dual wielding would need to be removed and all weapons given more power/range/accuracy/versatility, to compete with the BR at more than melee range.

But if that doesn't happen and the trend to more casual-friendly, then I want the old formula abandoned and a new style of Halo game to come out. Large scale, class-based (no custom classes, they are unbalanced like in COD) with Halo's shields, health, melees, etc.

A bit off topic. but:

What in the world happened to having to aim ahead in Halo?
I loved that in Halo - although the bullets should be faster. Insta-bullets are too casual friendly, in my opinion.

I was hoping they had some sort of hybrid gametype system where you can mix and match. Want to play traditional Halo? Limit it to Male Spartan models with the same hitbox, make it possible to pick up any and all weapons.

Want to play Counter-Strike Halo? Use the custom CS start up. Add your own weapons. Set the prices for those weapons. Set the starting cash, and money you get per kill.

Don't like Rockets or cheap weapons in the CS system. Fine. Use the CS system for all normal weapons, but exclude the rocket launcher. Put the Rocket Launcher in the center of the map to keep things fair to your rules.

Make your own class system. Change the weapons, headshot capabilities, armor, and health for every model of the class system etc.

Yes I want it to change. The formula Bungie has been using is great, but it has been the exact same for 8 years now. I don't want a Call of Duty Halo, I want something new, something innovative.

i would love if halo went slightly battlefield. i really want to see destructible environments and massive maps. (halo 1 had huge maps they should bring them back)

NO NO CLASSES! That would mean that explosives would be a class and everyone would run around with rockets. Halo 3's weapon system is perfectly balanced (I.E. Rockets spawn with only 4 rounds and take a while to respawn). What i would think to be likely is over use of the sniper class and whatever the br is used in. Really Classes+halo=Call of Halo. This would NOT improve the gameplay and WOULD ruin the fun. If you want classes go play a military game please

The BR's pretty much as weak as it can get, how would making it weaker benefit gameplay?

I've always had fun in Halo. So long as the maps are good (Terminal Remake!) I can't think of a reason as to why they should change Halo.
