I was just watching a show having to do with the military and I came up with a couple good ideas that would help make killing the covenant a bit easier.
So I was thinking what if you and some friends are playing Legendary, your moving silently through the city and you notice a couple of brutes and grunts and hunters up ahead. You all stop and you say alright everybody spray and prey. Well you all just spray into them but that does no good to the brutes and hunters so inevitably you all die. Well what if you had my idea "Target Locking"? Target Locking is basically an easier way of picking off enemies without having to worry about the couple of straglers that might catch you off your guard. Back on to the story: Well you, as the host/ leader of the party, tell everyone to stop. You turn on your large map and choose one of the brutes, the brute you choose has a red X above it which appears to the red ODST and the squad. This will make callouts easier if you need taking down an enemy thats shooting at you but there are more then one of them. You do the same to the other brute and the 2 hunters, The Brute will have a Blue X over it one hunter will have a purple X over it and the Last Hunter will have an orange X over it.
So When you finally select OK in the Map thing the other ODSTs will see their color X and an enemy, with this being active picking a target and taking out enemys will become a lot more effective. Then if you and your friends have mics you can tell the people who are targeting the hunters to wait until the hunters get closer to the grunts and through some grenades and when the grenades are thrown the rest of the squad can pick off their targets and then assist in taking out the rest of the enemy instead of just spraying into the group.
Another idea I had was to be able to be able to split into doubles but still be able to keep an eye open for your other squad. What I mean is what if you could use your VISR to make a little window in the top right corner to see what another teammate is seeing, this would also be very affective in firefight to see if a squad mate needs a hand. I'm thinking that you would only be able to see one person at a time to prevent lag.
So what do you think? The Video window thing I just came up with but the Target locking thing I think is a pretty good idea.
