Apparently your reading comprehension is not all there, I didn't say that it necessarily irritates me. It's just annoying.
*Head explodes*
In Halo 3, the different multiplayer armor permutations was well-accepted. But, it lacks one thing: the difference in the HUD. When looking at the Mark VI armor from the outside, you can see lines on the visor. Here you can easily see the lines.
When looking through the visor from the inside, you can still see the faint lines: You can see the lines.
Now, what I assume is that the outside of these lines is where all the HUD icons go (radar, ammo, grenades, etc.) and the middle is mostly for viewing through.
For Elites, it's different as well. I don't know how they have a HUD, but that's beside the point.
In Halo 3: ODST, we can see that the HUD is similar to the shape of the helmet.
What I would like to see is that if we even have multiplayer permutations in Reach that the HUD would vary. Not too much, however, but just enough that you know it's different, but it won't affect gameplay or your feel to the normal HUD as we've seen in the past games. (They did it with ODST, and it looks natural to me.)
Armor Permutation Additions/ Description
In Halo 3, there are descriptions for each type of armor. For example, the CQB armor was made to improve survivability in close quarters, so what I am saying is that whenever meleed, you would take less damage. Since the knife is on the chestplate, you could use the knife for melee attack and would do the same damage that the Brute Shot's or Spiker's melee does. But, to counter this, the Spartan would be more vulnerable to damage (look at the shoulders) and thus would take more damage from weapon fire. The EOD variant was designed to protect the user from explosives and projectiles. This would make the user take less damage from grenades, rockets, trip mines, bullets, etc. but would make the user slower and have less visibility (the two small eyes are like tunnel vision). This is most likely never going to be incorporated in Reach for gameplay reasons, but I thought it would be fun.
