In Halo 1, 2, and 3, the melee for all the guns in the games do the same amount of damage to shields and flesh. What I'm proposing, is that in Reach, the guns should all (mostly) have different melees.

The Brute Shot and the Spiker have the best melee (except for the Energy Sword and the Gravity Hammer) and the Magnum and the Plasma Pistol would have the worst melee (unless the Magnum uses an actual pistol whip).

I drew up a quick list of the melees. Please note that this is a very quickly done list, and does not mean that I think this should be the final version.

-Fuel Rod Gun
-Beam Rifle

You know, brute shot already does more damage than other weapons. So does spiker I believe.

I like it all being even. Having different strengths would alter gameplay too much.
