Hmm, surprisingly early.

I appreciated the better view of Alpha Site, looks like it's going to be one of my better-liked Firefight maps. I have a bit of a love for storyline, and being inside ONI is just too badass.

Also, weather sucks, my eyes are fine Bungie, if you like rain, move to Ohio, and woohoo banhammer.

Another good groupNew Mombasa

I too live around the Seattle area and it has been brutal this last week, wednesday was the worst hitting over 100 degrees.

Alpha site looks great and naked Urk scares me but overall a decent update.

  • 07.31.2009 11:53 AM PDT

Really early update! Looks like you're drinking a lot of coffee, eh Urk? Staying up and posting? I used to live in Seattle. It is pretty much rain, coffee, grunge, and Frasier. I live in beloved Gig Harbor now, I guess that Frasier got to me. Or the coffee, or grunge... or rain.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

All the references to Seattle and grunge are going to cause me to go into a hair-metal frenzy!

I will have to have a few cups of coffee first.

Pujas are phunny!
"You get recon by first going into your fridge. You take out your mayonaise and pour it all over yourself. Next take your car keys and flush them down the toilet. Yell angry names at your dog, then run out the door. The next part is vital to your sucess. Run to the nearest four way intersection, look up at the sky, say your name backwards 5 times, then lay down and a Bungie staff member will come up to you and give you recon." "The reason? Seattle people are stupid."

I find this very rude

Last June the highest temperature was 90 degrees F with an average of 67 degrees F
Last July the highest temperature was 84 degrees F with an average of 75 degrees F
Last August the highest temperature was 91 degrees F with an average of 76 degrees F

This June high of 90 avg of 73
This July (with one day left) high of 105 avg of 81
(all temperatures according to wunderground.com based in Renton - was unable to find avg and highs for Seattle or Redmond but this should be within a couple of degrees)

With weather trends like these there is little reason to buy air conditioning in Seattle. It would be like buying a car in New York or London, you could buy one and it would help you travel out of town but as long as you're in town there isn't too much of a point to have a car as long as you walk or use the subways.

So CJ, please do your homework before insulting people.

edit: mean't to say CJ sorry Urk, thanks Darth

Did I see a webmaster emblem for the ODST?

  • 07.31.2009 12:08 PM PDT

Very nice update. If its way too hot and not raining enough over in the west try coming to the North East of the U.S. New England should definately have enough rain for you. Places such as New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and Vermont would be good choices.

Corrected: Preferably, read a book that covers grammar and punctuation, you idiots.

Hunting Club

I like the update and I am very happy that our heat only lasted for two days. It got up to 104 here in Portland, OR. I am looking forward to getting my copy of ODST in Sept.

Amen. The Weather sucks here every summer. Especially if you like lots of rain.

-blam you - seattle people are not stupid. they don't feel the need to buy air conditioning because this the first time sense the 90's where it actually got to 100. and if you here people complaining it's because they're from out of state. Do you know how many people have moved here in the last 5 years. and you know what you're not helping so why don't you go back to where ever you're from.you know who are stupid? texans. most texans are ignorant and racist. go back there and have fun in your stupid god damn heat redneck.

"Dear Bungie.net, we regret being stubborn bastards, we regret coming to this forum, and we most definitely regret that Darth Kooky blew up our raggedy-ass opinion!"

If the "Jackal" is a Jackal, then why the hell did it charge Buck? Did the guys who made ODST program new aggressions and confidence into them or do they just not like ODSTs and don't consider them a threat? I have all 3 Bungie-made Halo games and not once have I ever seen a Jackal rush a Marine. The one exception is the occasional stupid Jackal with his energy shield. The Marine in question decided to give him a mouthful of bullets. The Jackal in that video however was holding a Carbine. Therefore he has no shielding, no defense, and one ODST who doesn't like aliens. Why the hell would the Jackal charge?! Granted we always play as 7 or 8 foot tall super-strong soldiers but when a Marine gets close to a Jackal with a Carbine, they hold their ground and then cower and run away. Either way I'm glad to see some newfound confidence in the Covenant ranks, Tough Luck Skull or not. And as for getting our eyes checked, that video was very poor quality. So there!

Had some nasty storms not too far past the border either. I live in BC in Canada but we get the same weather as you guys and it's super hot and then more rain than is seen in Spring. Ah well, better than snow.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

How is that cube not modded?

And try paying attention to what you read. That was something written by someone else who moved to Seattle a while ago. It wasn't Urk who wrote it.
