O.K check this out... There is a man that owns and takes care of a pond. This pond just so happens to grow water lillies, which mathematically double in numbers everyday. The man usually comes out everyday to clean the pond, but lately he's been pretty lazzy. He now will clean the pond only when it's half full of water lillies. Now, if there's 30 days in a month, on what day would the man have to clean the pond?

never, because he cleaned it which leaves 0 water lillies.

if you double 0 for the next day, you still get 0.

hahahaha I solved it already.

I'll read that after you take off the bold. As it is right now it makes my eyes bleed.

When you quoted it, you could've taken the bold out yourself, like this:

Well if the pond will be full in 30 days then it would be half full on day 29 seeing as they double every day.

Three guys go to a hotel, and a room costs 30 dollars, so they each pay ten. Then, the guy at the register realizes it only costed 25, so he sends the bellboy to give them back their 5 dollars. The bellboy keeps 2 dollars and gives each man a dollar back, so that each man only paid 9 dollars. 9 times 3 is 27, plus the 2 dollars the bellboy kept is 29. Where did the missing dollar go?

The three men have the extra dollar...you cannot add what the bellboy has in his pocket to what he gave the three men back. Because 3 and 2 arn't the same number.

It's really to complicated to type out...

well you're not addding to 30 anymore but to 25. so 3 times 9 is 27 and minus two in the bellboys pocket is 25. there's no missing dollar. if the guys each gave back there one dollar to the boy as tip he'd have 5 bucks instead of the 2 he stole.

and the lillipads in the pond was a bit too vague to have calculated. if it was stated that after a month it is completly full of lillies then you could have guessed when half full would have been and consequently cleaned.
