ok say your in a level in firefight with a scorpion, gauss cannon, idk whatever can destroy a phantom, and you... well... destroy a phantom. in the scoring screen/ carnage report that we saw, there was nothing that really resebled a phantom, but i think that if you kill a freakin phantom, you deserve not only the points for killing the units in it, but also the phantom itself. how do you guys think this'll work, and do you think there'll be anything to prevent you from destroying them? (ex. maybe they're made invincable or something? idk)

you are a good translator
Idiot can be a hard language to learn, but once you get it down, everything becomes so clear! The whole world will make sense to you.

The FRG should be more than capable of bringing it down on most maps.

It's probably possible to destroy one with a turret. unless bungie makes them invulnerable or something.

I dont know if you can but it would make alot of since if you could causs halo 3 you could. Plus it would be a great for the rocket launcher or warthog to come into play becides destroying wraiths. But yea great Idea.

Phantoms don't die

Have you ever shot at one in a Scorpion?

Sorry, I can't hear them over the sounds of Modern Warfare 3 on my Turtle Beaches.

He means Destroy Phantoms.

I'd believe if you have a Scorpion, just fire five shots and Phantom goes, "BOOM!"

i'm awesome

It would be a great teamwork dynamic, I don't know. When you get far and near the end of a round where you know something bad is coming, the ODSTs are probably going to want to take it down with all the resources they have.

One guy has to be on the machine gun turret, other two have rocket launchers and fuel rods, and the last ODST would be picking off stragglers and lobbing plasma grenades at the Phantom.

I'm assuming during the last set (or whatever you call it) the music picks up and the Phantom decides to linger on in the battlefield for a little bit.

7 lines isn't long enough for a signiture! =P

MegaHaxPwnage

Well phantoms are destroyable but whether or not you can destroy them in firefight is yet to be confirmed.

If they were destroyed then the map would become cramped.

Maybe they crash outside of the map...

sorry for the whole 'kill phantoms' thing. with the vehicles having names like they do, i can't help it =). ok but do you guys think we'll get extra points also for killing (destroy) a phantom? i mean, say you kill it (destroy it) and but right after it deploys all its troops (lol major kick in the crotch). would you get points for it still? i think you'd deserve it. and btw imagine how many points you'd get for killing (destroying) a phantom with, say, a couple chieftans in it, maybe a wraith. dude. jackpot.

I could see where that would cause problems...

How about a system much like rounds and sets Bungie employed where you can only destroy Phantoms at specific times? Most of the time they'd be simply dropping off infantry and Wraiths, but how about near the end of a round?

I could totally see a Phantom hovering over the battlefield providing aerial support, and it would fly away after you kill most of the ground troops.

Phantoms are probably destructible still, but from what I've seen of gameplay, you won't have enough firepower at any one time to take one down. I'm not sure how much fire they take before going down, but it's a lot. In H3 campaign, it usually took two marines with fuel rods to take them down.

The carnage report you saw only showed infantry, you have to press RB to see vehicles.

sweet. also, a side note, i was recently playing campaign halo 3 with scoring on and when i killed the plasma cannon on the phantom, i didn't get any points which angered me. do you think you should get points for just killing the gun, but not the ship in odst?

"Apparently people don't like the truth, but I do like it; I like it because it upsets a lot of people. If you show them enough times that their arguments are bull-blam!-, then maybe just once, one of them will say, 'Oh! Wait a minute I was wrong.' I live for that happening. Rare, I assure you."-Lemmy of Motorhead

Yes, I'm the guy who had the Flood admit to being furries.

Enable Cowbell and use the Fuel Rod Cannon. Works well.
