So most of the community after H2 blab about how the pistol in H:CE was "way over powered" yet most of them didnt play a lot of Halo CE or do as many LAN parties as people who were around before Halo 2... While the pistol was very powerful the weapons were very balanced, heres my argument, hear me out please... The human weapons in CE were almost perfect minus the AR being a little on the weak side everything else was perfect counter to one another for instance the pistol was a great mid range weapon, you would always want it on u in the middle of the battlefield, but the sniper was perfect at taking out the pistol mid to long range and the shotgun was perfect for short to medium short range and rockets were perfect for everything very similar to how it is now...What Reach needs is something that goes in perfect in the middle of all the weapons, something you wouldn't want to leave home without unless ur using a specialty weapon (sniper, rockets, laser, etc) Now the BR isn't that weapon, well at least not for me, its easily out muscled by the bullet hoses like the AR and some others. At the same time making the AR and other weapons a lot weaker is NOT the answer... In Halo 2 everything felt like BB guns minus the sniper and maybe the shotgun/rockets. Halo 3 was definitely better and more balanced but what Reach needs is the BR to be more like an M1 Grand semi-auto powerful at a good distance single shots and not burst and take maybe 4/5 headshots to take out enemies and maybe around 7 to 8 body shots(clip size 10 to 12 rounds)... It also needs to have a powerful crack when you pull the trigger to give the feeling of something powerful.

And so the weapon doesn't become overpowered or overused like the BR in Halo 2/3, make ALL weapons versatile, like they were in Halo 1. Not just the midrange gun. And to do this, dual wielding would need to be removed.
