no....bungie didnt make a remake of it because the snipers would dominate the map. god

no bungie didn't make it for Halo 3 because the AR wouldn't work on it only the BR and Carbines would (i;e the way it should be )

and snipers didn't dominate in Halo CE Blood Glutch that may have been good weapon balance though

No, Blood Gulch is way too open and has no cover. It would suck for matchmaking.

um I was playing Blood Glutch yesterday with friends on Halo CE and I have notice that since the hills have a intertwining pattern it really didn't have that open feeling to it, as long as you stay low you were pretty safe the only open parts were at the bases, tops of the hills, and along the cliffs, and from base to base there is reasonably more cover than on Vahalla, another point is there isn't a single hill to control like Vahalla which normanly decides the match

No matter how many times I forget about this place, I always get dragged back.

I'm more than okay with that.

nope, rather have new maps. (unless they have a free mapback dlc that includes the best older maps.)

If there were a "best old maps" DLC, Blood Gulch sure as hell wouldn't deserve to be included.

Education is the most important thing in your life. Don't skip it for a video game.

Tada!

It would look the same--but it wouldn't feel right

If Halo: Reach Gameplay will be like Halo 1, then of course I want it to be remade, but if Reach's Gameplay will be like Halo 2 and 3, then hell no!

That's because Blood Gulch is overrated. Vehicle combat needs to be balanced more with infantry combat, and that's what Valhalla does better that Blood Gulch did. Valhalla actually has enough cover to avoid getting shot the -blam!- up if you weren't one of the lucky ones to get to a vehicle or a power weapon first.

Also, Best Old Maps DLC
Chiron TL34
Sidewinder
Beaver Creek
Waterworks
Sandtrap
The Pit (remember, Halo 3 will be old when Reach comes out)

Thats why it would only be in big team battle and like alot of us are saying there could be a bit more rocks but not to interfeare with the flow of veichles. I think stuff like tripmines, deployable shield would be good though. even radar jamer would be awsome for sneaking in for a flag.

I'm not saying vehicles are bad, I'm saying that sometimes, making life difficult for vehicle users is necessary because of their power; you have to give the guy on the ground a chance. In open terrain, a Warthog can speed by a person and take them down from a good distance with the back turret, but throw in some elevation differences and some cover (again, Valhalla) and a more fair fight is achieved.

Blood Gulch is a map that should be a staple of the series. Hell, even Halo Wars has it.

  • 08.01.2009 8:22 PM PDT

How to spell "space"?

S-P-ACE! SPACE!

Valhalla is a terrible map. I used to like it, but then it just became too boring. Skill was not needed to win, just map control.

Blood Gulch was different. There was no incentive to hold on to a certain piece of the map. You had to move on to get to the action.

well, first off, the "I don't care" option is called "Not Voting". and I love how you criticized people for not spell checking and then saying "an brand new game". see, the word "brand" starts with a consonant, in which case you would use "a", "an" is only if the first letter in the word is a vowel. just sayin'

Does anyone even read these?

Definitely, though I hope that changes are made either to the map or gameplay to suit it better.

A skilled team can break another team's lockdown on a part of the map.

No. A large, flat plain with Scorpion tanks, snipers, Ghosts and Warthogs isn't very good for spawns. I'd only want it back for nostalgic reasons, but that's a horrible reason to have a map remade.
