If they did this their would be too many classes to choose from because their is so many guns, battlefield 1943 has like 6 guns thats why it works for that game....

and a bunch moreNot necessarily. You could get it done with 5 classes. Just put weapons in sets (i.e. a close-midrange set, a sniping set, an anti-armor set, etc.) and have each class have two sets (switch between weapons with Y button like in Halo 1/2/3).
From left to right in the banner --
Support -- close-midrange, and an anti-armor
Recon -- submachine gun, and a sidearm
Soldier -- close-midrange and a medium range
Engineer -- close range, and an anti-armor
Sniper -- sniper, and a sidearm
Sniper = Sniper Rifle, Gauss Rifle // Beam Rifle
Medium Range = Battle Rifle // Carbine
Close-midrange = Assault Rifle, Heavy Machinegun // Plasma Rifle, Plasma Cannon, Needler
Anti-Armor = Grenade Launcher, Rocket Launcher, Spartan Laser // Brute Shot, Fuel Rod Cannon, Hunter Cannon
Submachine Gun = SMG, Silenced SMG // Spiker, Brute Plasma Rifle
Close Range = Shotgun, Flamethrower // Needler Shotgun, Plasma Caster, Energy Sword
Sidearm = Pistol, M6C/SOCOM silenced Pistol // Plasma Pistol
Spartans spawn with human weapons, Elites spawn with alien weapons. They all have defaults set by Bungie (i.e. Support spawns with a Heavy Machinegun and a Rocket launcher) but it could be changed in the main menu (like how you can change your preffered COG or spawn weapon in GOW2) as well as the respawn menu, and spawn with something else from the weapon set (i.e. change the HMG to an Assault Rifle)
