Hello all. I hope in Halo 3 that the game pyhsics will be more complicated. In Halo 2 right now when you jump from the tallest crane in Headlong and throw a granade a few seconds before you hit the ground it will bounce the same hieght as if you were to do the same, but jump off one of the shortest pillars that hold up the building that are underneth the tallest crane. The granade bounce will be the same hieght. Now in a situation in Matchmaking in Halo 3 on the maps that are with the game. Lets say there is a guy in a window with glass but you cannot throw a granade at window directly so you would have to bounce off the ground to take out the glass, but the second catch is that the window is a couple a stories above the ground and the thrid catch is you are out of ammo in both your and you weren't able to get to him without dieing. Now if Bungie were to put the same game pyhsics as in Halo2 there would be probablems about the bounce of the granade. Now on the the pyhsics part so pull out you pyhsics books(if you have one). Every solid object falls at the rate of 9.8m/s. Now think a half ton object falling from a good 4-10 stories at a rate of 9.8m/s should to hit a Warthog, the Warthog should collaspe under the weight and explode. It should explode because after every second the object speed increase by 9.8m/s (22mph/s). So after dropping from the tallest crane to the ground took 4 secs. the players MC should started from 0 then to 88mph then back to 0 in those four secs. Now I can't be exect about this because I don't have the all the numbers for the hieghts and other stuff, but any ways Bungie should improve the game pyhsics a lot because there is no fall damage and yet you can fall from the top of buildings and land on top of vehicals and the vehicals survive now thats not just right and for the granades the bounce at certeen hieghts should be increased. Thats all about it, umm go head and ask questions I'll try to answer them as best as I can.

The grenades have terminal velocity, in layman's terms, they have a maximim speed at which they fall. Since they cannot fall faster than their terminal speed, that is why they always bounce the same height. As to Master Cheif falling onto a warthog from such a height, he survives because his suit absorbs most of the impact.
Since his suit absorbs almost all of the impact, there is very little force left, a small enough amount for the warthog to absorb.

Theoretically, if Master Chief overrode his suits systems, he could hit the warthog and destroy it. However, Master Cheif would then die of the impact as well.

Yet like i said I dont have all the hieghts of ledges people could jump from, so I wouldn't really know how much of the kinetic energy that is being built up because I don't know what the speed of the object because I don't have the hieghts. So those are the only two numbers that i need to figure out the Kinetic energy.
