Subject: What map/gametype content will be included on ODST disc 2?

Is it just going to be a "copy" of what's already on the Halo 3 disc?

Many of the default maps on the Halo 3 disc are no longer in use in matchmaking. Almost every map has been tweaked, at least slightly. We also saw some variants with severe changes like removing shield doors and Elephants (Epilogue, Boundless, and SAND TARP). Are we going to get these on-disc when ODST launches?

Snakie Purple.

"Hamdog, Hamdog, Hamdog, Hamdog"-Hamdog.

I'd say the original maps will be there. Maybe the modified maps like "SANDTARP" but maybe not. Nobody knows. As for gametypes, I'd think all the updated versions will be there. By that I mean, since bungie tweaked slayer in TU2, we should default start with ARs and Magnums from now on.

Yeah, I don't think this is a detail that Bungie is purposely obscuring, so I'm hoping for an official response.

No there will not be any modifyed maps. All it is is Halo 3's multiplater with 24 maps. Thats all the Map packs that have been released so far plus 3 new maps that are exclusive to ODST and only avaliable on that second disk . - Taken from an Interview with Brain Gerrard

My guess the second disk will say you are playing "Halo 3", thus this is why the other achivments are on this disk.

Also it will have Forge and Theather. Basically a Halo 3 disk with no campaign and 3 new maps.

before reading i thought you were an idiot but now i see where your going. that would be nice if they have all the updated maps in mm (the normal ones with removoal of radar jammer flares etc) instead of just downloading it you have it right there. i would also like to have Epilogue boundless and sand tarp as new maps but i know its not going to happen. bungie said that there will be 24 maps in all so this is not going to happen.

If u want the reworked maps just go back after you play them and save them. then youve got the reworked maps.

Look, I'm just wondering if they've updated the defaults. It would be nice. Official response?

before reading i thought you were an idiot because no words were capitalized but know i see "your" probably a little kid.

Bungie has stated that there will be 24 maps on disk, but they certainly could include alternate map variants. Having the new defaults that have been time-tested in matchmaking would be a convenience to all players.

I believe it is all the original maps, heroic, legendary and full mythic map pack. Extra map variants do not need inclusion because they're on the server. Thats why you don't need to download current map variants such as SAND TARP etc to be able to play them on matchmaking.

Having them on the disc is a convenience, especially if one wants to play LAN or offline customs. And you do need to download them, you download them every time you play a matchmaking game.

Also, an important point to consider is that if these were on-disc defaults, you wouldn't have to take up one of your 100 content slots just to have the matchmaking default or a Bungie-authorized mod like Boundless. It's giving more to the users.

Default maps, plus Mythic Map Pack 2.
