Subject: Septagon Improvement Index.

I'm not that active, but never dead.

I have noticed a lot of different threads spread thoughout the Spetagon on how to improve it. Instead of cluttering up the forums with a lot threads that are really the same topic I created this thread where ideas can be talked about and discussed.

Note: This topic is only for posting ideas or discussing ideas that can improve the column. If you want to start your own topic, I'm not stopping you. This topic's main purpose, is to organise all the 'idea' topics into one place Very much like the 'Contents' page of a book.

Orginizing it into one thread also increases the chance of ideas being implemented since they will be easier to find. If they started in a different thread, links are provided.

Septagon Improvement Ideas:

A (*) symbolises that a Bungie Mod/Employee has responded to the post. If A Bungie Mod/Employee has responded to a thread and I have not marked it, do NOT post that. Instead, PM me. This will help keep this thread uncluttered.

I will attempt to update the thread with all ideas as frequently as I can. However, I will be away at my QL3 and SQ army training camps during the summer, so I will be unable to update this thread then.

One slightly unrelated topic, on the main forum listing page, they misspelled recruiting in the definition of the Classifieds forum. Unless recruting is the correct spelling.

Heh, never noticed that until now.

Edit - Just to add, shouldn't they change 'Chapters' to 'Groups' now?

This forum is for promotion and recruting for Chapters.

This is a great idea, perhaps sticky worthy?

Well, the whole Septagon is for improving the Bungie website.

This is another idea: I wish they would make a sticky of ideas/improvements that the Bungie Team may consider.

I second that. Also, Alex, I like the idea. You've definitely taken charge of the situation and made things happen, a commendable attribute indeed.

I've got an idea - How about links that can connect you to an assortment of email addresses that are heavily used on B.net? For example, the bnetbugs email, or the mod's email? It would be a quick and painless way to report bugs and/or spammers.

That this thread is now up, I'll try to think of some others. I also have to read those links Alex posted above.

Personally, I do believe this thread is sticky worthy. If we can locate many of the ideas posted by members in the past (or have any new ones of our own), this would be a good thread to fall back on and consolidate all of that info in one huge "Ideas from the Masses" thread.

[Wanted to add another idea, but I can't see my post. Must be forum lag.]

Another idea: What if something were added so that you can keep track of threads you recently posted in? Say, for example, you post in multiple threads that you find interesting. Instead of having to keep each thread in your mind to see how people are responding, you can refer back to this "list" of threads you posted in recently to see where the conversation is going.

I like that idea. But where to put it.....I know! The right sidebar. Underneath the "Forums" & "Text mark-up" bar.

The G4 forums have a simmilar feature (I think). I think you have to manually add the threads you want to be tracked though.

This is silly, a thread about improving the 7th Column, within a Forum about improving the 7th Column...

No. Technically, it should be groups/ chapters as they are two different things.

Anyway in reply to The Tombland, it's not silly in my opinion. It would be very useful to have a single place that Bungie can browse. It also means that if this became a sticky, all the brilliant ideas won't be lost in the depths of the forum.

Very nice idea. (on a personal note, glad to see my idea included) ;)

I think they should work on making the site as fast and smooth as possible and only after that put in a search feature.

Please do not share your opinion on weather this will work or not...that's off topic and could be considered spamming. Weather this thread gets stickied or not is irelevant, it's what goes on in the thread that matters.

Remember: This thread is for discussing the idea's that have been brought up concernering the improvement of 7th Column. Think of it as an Index & dicussion place in one.

Also, here's a small change that the mods might like. I thought of it first when I read this:

Oh well, let's get this thing moved. Hopefully the "thread moved" notice (that has the link to where this was relocated) won't make people think that this was locked. It's not been locked. Just moved to where it should have been in the first place. But I would guess that many people are going to mistakenly assume and think that you have been "silenced by the man". *sigh*

I was thinking why not have a different icon that shows that something has been moved? Something like this: Topic Moved icon.

Well, when a thread has been moved, the title is edited to say "Moved:" at the beginning, but cool icon.

The idea's really cool and i'll certainly start using it. The problem i think we'll find is spam, just like that stuff in this thread posted by geffgorman. And tripple posting by the way geffgorman is against the rules.

Like some others said, not bad of an idea you have there...

Although we could use some modifications right here.
