In the desperate measures video at one point you see two mongooses. It's only a split second, but if you look at the ODST on them they all appear to look like rookie/standard ODST. This appears to suggest that whilst playing co-op all the players use the same model, or that at some point you meet up with other ODST.

If they are your co-op partners this brings up an issue, what happens when doing the flashbacks, when you take the role of each squad member when you discover their fate? I'll be slightly disspointed if they do it ala Halo 3 in which you're two unrecognised guys who don't turn up in the story. Especially given the squad would allow each player to take a different role/squad member - well might, given they seem to split up an the like this could be problematic.

hi

Halo 3's co-op mode contradicted with the story.

I'm sure it will this time as well. It doesn't matter or make a difference.

For example, the arbiter wasn't with you that much in halo 3 but in co op he's always there.

there are 3 unnamed odst's that your buddies play as in co-op

like the purple and blue elites in halo 3, just ODST's instead.

Snakie Purple.

"Hamdog, Hamdog, Hamdog, Hamdog"-Hamdog.

Twatter

In campaign, If you are the party leader, you are The Rookie, everyone else in your Co-Op party is a generic ODST.

They'll probably have rookie for player 1 and then a generic odst for the other guys.

The name's Ian, Game Designer at Whisper Game Studios, very off-and-on Bungie.net visitor and avid Bungie fan overall. Message me if you wish.

Ya, seriously, I don't know why Bungie won't talk about 4-Player Co-op in ODST as much as they did in Halo 3. I know that in Halo 3 it was a big thing the fans wanted but with ODST, they kinda need to explain how the hell it's gonna work.

They should shut up about FF for a bit maybe and start talking about other things. People are getting pretty unhappy about FF not having MM so why doesn't Bungie stray away from that and talk about new things to stray those other fans' attention away from FF and toward the Co-op and the story and new weapons, etc.
