Poll: Should Momentum-Based Melees return in Reach? [closed]
Total Votes: 34
Halo 1 and Halo 2 had something called "momentum melees". Basically melee strength was determined by if you standing still, running, or jumping. Standing melees did the least amount of damage, running did more damage, and jumping did the most amount of damage. Usually in gameplay this meant that standing and running melees were three hit kills, and jumping melees were two hit kills. It also affected the objective items (Flag, Oddball, Bomb) in that standing and running melees were two hit kills, and jumping melees was a one hit kill.
In Halo 3, for whatever reason, momentum melees were not in the game. Why? I don't know. I'm not going to comment on Halo 3's current melee system.
What I'm proposing is that momentum melees should make a return in Reach. I'm not sure if Reach will use Halo 3's hit point system so here's how it would be:
Standing+Melee= Three hit kill
Running+Melee= Three hit kill
Jumping+Melee= Two hit kill
Thoughts?
