Tell me if you like the following idea-

-Halo Reach is squad based campain that allows you to order around 4 other Spartans
-You play as Master Chief
-The Spartan on the far left is Heavy weapons
-The Spartan on the inside left is a technical specialist (repairs equipment, hacks computers, etc.)
-The guy on the far right is not a Spartan but an excellent sniper
-The Spartan on the inside right is a basic Spartan (usually using AR and BR)
-If a member of your squad dies, he's dead for good

I think it would be great to see a Halo game with some kind of class system and I also like the idea of squads. Not a class system like COD of course, but maybe a character based system like Brutes are super strong and spartans are good at combat.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

A squad system would make playing by yourself more punishment than necessary.

Even in Resident Evil 5, when you just had 1 team mate, it made the game near unplayable alone.

squad based combat just wouldn't make it a halo game any more, and from past games that involve excessive use of you ai comrades ( army of 2, re5) it just doesnt work nearly as well as it should and never as well as a highly trained spartan super soldier could be expected to
