A 9 Hour campaign is worth $60 if and only if .... the game has a fully functioning multi-player. Not to mention Halo 3 supposedly had a 12 hour Campaign that took me 7 hours on Legendary.
Halo 3 ODST does not have a fully functioning MP, and thus is not worth $60. By the way, don't say movie games. They might release for $60, but a month later they are $10 at the Bargain Bin. AAA titles are what I am talking about.
this is in your opinion, as it stand the MP is not needed to sell the game. Force unleashed is prime example of this with a rated 7 hour campaign and no multiplayer. It was a AAA title that sold for $60.
so no it doesn't need the MM to be marketed. this is all about appropriate marketing, not opinions on appropriate marketing
That game got a 7.0 rating and didn't sell much more then a million copies. Not a AAA title at all.
Name one game that sold more then 5 million copies and didn't have a campaign longer then fifty hours, or a multi-player this generation. Too bad, because you can't.
Also Star Wars TFU was down to $30 in a few months. Most games that are overpriced go down in price in about one or two months, not something that i see happenning with ODST unless it sells really badly.
it released as a AAA title. the AAA is not defined by the result but by the production cost.
also Halo 3 sold more than 5 million copies with less than fifty hours of campaign, as did almost all of the CODs
