The end of the capaign of halo 3 on legendary thee is a 'secret' cutscene that shows MC and cortana alone on a ship drifting toward a planet... Will this tie into ODST? Will it ever be explained??

That wouldn't make sense in this game though. It has nothing to do with Master Chief, it's all about ODST's.

Perhaps in Halo: Reach though

The fight has been complete.... now get the cookies!

While we certainly share your enthusiasm for the return, we here at the Bungie.net community are mostly made up of snarky asses and jerks who will ridicule you for making a thread about something revealed months ago. We regret that your innocent intentions will almost certainly be replied with anger and sarcasm, and politely invite you to don your Flame-suit, because you just did the internet equivalent of jumping up the Construct lifts.

Alot of people think it was a sneak preview of one of the upcoming game we all know about-Halo: Reach. It looks like it if you look at it.

That's just Bungie's way of keeping people guessing. ODST will not tie into that, I can guarentee it. And neither will Reach. I'm willing to put money on that either.

In the Halo Legends anime, however, Frankie has said we'll find out a bit more as to what happened. So if you want to know what happened, Halo: Legends is your best bet.
