Everyone is saying this game will be based on 'the book'
I don't think thats true(did bungie even make the book???)
This could just be a different game without anything to do with the book at all, It's a valid idea but i personally think it would make a better game without having any ties to the book at all, it would keep us guessing...

Bungie has said before the novels are canon. So they could very well include them. I hope they have some relations to the book, but also some new stories to explore. A good combo of both. Kind of like how I would like to see the gameplay, some new additions to change up the mix, but still the same Halo feel.

So you're saying you want it to be about something other than the gigantic awesome battle involving more than a dozen Spartans? No thanks.

***SPOILER WARNING TO THOSE THAT HAVEN'T READ HALO: THE FALL OF REACH OR HAVE COMPLETED THE HALO 3 CAMPAIGN***

It's a valid idea? Many references are made in the Halo trilogy from the books, one of the most notable being the first name of Spartan-117 at the end of Halo 3. I'm sure that many parts of Halo: Reach will be from the book, Halo: The Fall of Reach. It'd be quite strange, though, to play the Master Chief when he was a child, but still rewarding to those that read the book. I think this game will have a lot to do with the Battle of Reach, maybe even playing the game from the perspective of another of the SPARTAN II's. I'm sure that Bungie has a million aces up it's sleeve to make sure that this game is one of the best of the Halo games so far.
