This would be a good time to point out that the US Government seriously did consider nuking the moon during the Cold War as a show of force. Project A119.

"A large explosion on the Terminator line would put the sun behind the mushroom cloud, making the explosion visible with the naked eye from Earth."

Then the US decided they'd just send in Neil Armstrong to land on it. Neil Armstrong - the one man on the earth that was considered a suitable replacement for a nuclear missile.

It would help. You can pick up ammo for UNSC weapons, but other than the carbine, needler, spiker, and mauler, you can't recharge the plasma. If you could find random plasma batteries around the map, instead of blowing them up, why not recharge your weapon? I think it's a good idea, anyways...

Maybe if they balanced it good, I can see it happening. An answer to that age-old question of how do they recharge their weapons...

I think thats a pretty cool idea seeing that you can find ammo around most maps for the UNSC weapons so i think that they should it only seems fair.

Carbines use cartridges (and are radioactive, but not plasma-based munition), which can can be easily removed and exchanged. And needlers, maulers, and spikers use physical projectiles.

they planned to have a second use for the plasma batteries before the release of halo 3, but i guess it got scrapped.

most people speculated what you suggested would be in. itd be cool.

Well im tired of having to recycle a perfectly good plasma based weapon so a charge would be a good idea if done right anyhow, don't really feel like standin around a recharge station waitin for my HUD to read Disconnect OK.

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

Great idea. I want to see it happen.

Good idea. I was majorly dissapointed when I found out in halo 2 that the Arbiter dosen't know how to change a set of batteries. What a dumbass.

That's kind of what I was thinking.
A sort of recharge station for plasma pistols and rifles.

I would say yes. Put the recharge stations in open areas so it is risky to recharge your weapon.
the stations should also be destroyable.

The UNSC don't know how to recharge them, but if you play from an Elite's perspective again, then you should be able to.

Depends how long it takes to get your gun recharged, but I usually don't run out of battery with a plasma rifle considering it takes like ten minutes to use that thing up. I think that plasma rifles and plasma pistols should be just as strong as they were in halo ce as have the same amount of range when they are by them self, but when you have two of them they should be twice as strong with the only downside is that their range also gets cut in half.
