I have DSL at the moment, so whatever that is, is our internet connection. But, if the city gets enough votes to do a Fiber Optics Network, then my internet connection speed will go from very fast, to ultra-fast. It'd be like getting a T1 connection to my home.
First off, that's a lie because your connection is only as fast as the modem since that becomes the limiting factor. The fiber optics will only decrease the condense environment of your current system. In other words, unless you are willing to pay MCI $1500 a month for a T1 line, don't count on those speeds.
