"I'm afraid of the man I'll become if I lay my life down for the people I don't even care for"

I just realized that Halo 1- Halo 3 ODST used the same engine with heavy heavy changes and improvements. Called Blam! (Actually called blam, not some other word.
Now they are saying they are making a completly new engine

Halo 3 is Kickass

It's properly to be compatible with Project Natal.

Whoa!

I thought Halo 3 was using a brand new engine, hmm?

Sorry I took so long, I got sidetracked.

Perception is everything.

????? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT !!!?!!!!!!!! Bungie did not use the same engine for the halo games. In fact, Halo 3 ODST is the first game being made on an engine they have used before, and because of this their artists were able to do more with the engine than they originally thought they could, and made it look better than halo 3. Halo CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3 all have their own engines.

all run on Havox engine for physics and do use a more improved version of the Halo engine each time around too, this is the first Halo game with a built from ground up engine. The otheres where just massive improvement in the engine tech

I'm glad that the engine is new too because I'm tired of seeing the same animation everytime I die an explosion death, The "flailing arms as if you're still alive" death.

I definitely remember hearing in one of the recent podcasts somebody said that Halo 3: ODST was the first game to use the same engine, and that the artists were able to do more than they originally thought they could with halo 3.

An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.

Halo 3 uses a much improved version of the engine that was used in Halo 2. I'm not so sure about Halo CE, but I know ODST, Halo 3, and Halo 2 are all using the same engine, only in heavily modified variations.

Some evidence points to the new engine:

It's closer to the same engine, but they know how to do things with it now that they didn't before without changing as much.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.
