Well, ODST takes place after MC killed the scarab. but the elites didn't join the humans until the last level of halo 2, so in the timeline in which ODST takes place, shouldn't the ODSTs be fighting elites rather than brutes?

.

Maybe you should try learning what happened instead of assuming.

Marine: Sir the enemy has surrounded us!
Officer: Good now we may fire in all directions.

The storyline says we should but since the halo 3 engine apparantly cannot register elites as enemys we will be fighting brutes. (i like fighting both)

Sorry, I can't hear them over the sounds of Modern Warfare 3 on my Turtle Beaches.

ODST takes place when Regret leaves Earth on his way to Delta Halo. He took the Elites with him, and I believe Truth sent the Brutes to clean up the mess the Elites left on Earth.

I wish they would at least appear in Firefight but they won't.

1. This was addressed in a Weekly Update months ago.
2. Bungie has confirmed that Elites will not be enemies.
3. Hundreds of threads have already been made about this, and only a moron would not have found that on the search bar.

Bottom line: Elites left Earth with Regret. Truth sent in the Brutes.

There will be no Elites.

I was right!

well to be honest we should see some elites seeing as regret would of recalled most of them but alot would of got cut off and unable to return to the ship but brutes would of been put on the ground to show the change of roles and hierachy of the elites to the brutes in one respect.

Two wise young men meet at the top of a mountain and futally attempt to push each other off while the third, much older, wise man, that was first to the top, watches. After hours of struggle a victor was decided. As the victor turns to him, too tired to fight more, and the wise old man begins his climb on another hill far above the hill he recently occupied. The victor is left bewildered and lacks the energy to climb further. The wise man and the older wise man were now in their rightful places.

the elites all left with the prophet and the brute were left on clean up duty so then they got mad at the 1337s leading to the power shift that makes the elites join the humans.

O ok well im sorry i dont study halo history like you so why dont you tell me whats going on since i obviously have no clue towards the storyline.

And so there was a man who ate cake.

And he was happy it was that way.

During this period in the timeline the Elites were supposed to protect the Prophets, so Regret would have taken the Elites with him since their duty is to insure his safety.

The Brutes were left as the clean-up crew.

completly wrong! first off elites can be enemies if you betray them they will kill you! secondly! there are no elites because truth was planning to betray the elites all along! Why would truth want elites stationed on earth? It would be easier for them to join the humans. And to the OP this question has been answered many many times!

Elites are just models with different animations than Brutes.
Brutes are just models with different animations than Elites.
Halo Combat Evolved's engine didn't even have Brutes programmed in it. But SPV 1 and soon to come 2 will contain both Elite and Brute enemies.
A game engine can register anything created as an ally or enemy, depending on how the AI is programmed. It can easily create Elite enemies. Brutes were left to clean up.

I was reffering to your lack of knowledge of game engines.

What you said doesnt even make any sense.

...What does basic, fundamental knowledge of a Game Engine and Halo's stroyline have to do with each other?

as much as i would like to it wouldn't make sense story wise since it takes place between halo 2 and halo 3 you would be fighting Brutes

  • 08.02.2009 1:15 PM PDT

It's not Hip-Hop, its Electro.... prick.

They left through the slipspace portal. Only Brutes were left

  • 08.02.2009 1:17 PM PDT

If we fought elites like in H2 that means to make the elites powerful we have to make brutes over-powerful like in H2 also.
