Yes, because how I classify ads will shape my life.

Not that. But, if you treat general life that way and start doing that with other things more often it most certainly will. Just like how you treat everyone around you as inferior and stupid probably will, too.

All of you guys are. -_-

On the serious side, give me an example of how that first point would hurt me.

Are you SERIOUSLY still arguing over that. I made this thread to give people something more serious to discussin this forum, not so people can argue over what they believe advertisement is. You guys are weirdos

Yes we are. Halo 3's advertisement was 10/10, but ODST's sucks.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

6/10.

Wheres the ODST Mountain Dew and Burger King?

  • 08.02.2009 2:03 PM PDT

I want less info.....

"When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give EL1TE SUPR3MACY lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

Compared to Halo 3's advertisement, ODST's advertisement could be better. I want to see something big, like the Halo 3 Believe diorama.

I think they've shown enough. I don't want there to be any more ViDocs, I want there to be some surprises when I play.

On the serious side, give me an example of how that first point would hurt me.

Take simple logic, for example.
If you start only half assing it and ignore the other sides of it people are seeing, the stability of your own critical thinking is flawed and can be easily compromised by another around you. The same thing that costs people jobs, makes them have to foreclose on houses and lock up to sneak out in the middle of the night, or believe that life is too sacred to take even when there's a big ass bear running for you.
Not to say, you'll ignore the other side of actual logic, but if you apply that same concept to anything else, the flaw is still true in value.
EDIT :You guys are weirdos
I like being weird :B

Man is born free but everywhere he is in chains.

I think the advertisement has been done very well. I would say almost everyone who would buy the game knows about it, and then some. And all of the ads have persuaded me to go out and pre-order; not just for Sgt. Johnson (although that was a big factor), but also so I know I can get the game as soon as possible!
I like the subtlety about their advertising too, if too much was shown it wouldn't be half as interesting. Just enough has been shown to get me hooked!

Helping out the 7th column community with reasonable posts since '07.

Desperate Measures was one of the best Vidocs they've made so far! It was incredible, especially at the end when I quote "Guess we're the 'Desperate Measures'." Gave me literately goose bumps, also they've done a lot of work in their character models, and facial express (unless it's all lies, and it's pre-rendered, or CGI, but I doubt it.

I say 10/10.

  • 08.02.2009 4:06 PM PDT

If anything else is shown that will be almost the whole game! But yes.

honestly, i never feel satified with the info Bungie gives before a new game but that is what makes you love it and keep checking up on it haha. i think ODST will be my new favorite game....aside from H3 (of course)

I don't really consider ViDocs advertising, as they are catering more to the people who already know about the game. While TV spots and things like the Gamefuel and BK stuff are available to a much broader group of people.

Check Out my FileShare.
I was once on Bungie Faves. (Feb.7-15)
I'd like to know why I can't see the signatures of others of myself on the forum. I have made favs once, 7777 campaign kills, and I helped bring modders down when they were at their strongest

They have done really well, Halo 3 ingame ads, to Bungie.net. Hell you can even make your avatar an ODST (Something I plan on doing when I actually go back to playing Xbox.)

10/10. I lost hype when after the months of no news after the teaser came out...

Then E3 came and BAM, MW2 hype went out the window.

The people that choose the second option usually choose it because they just want MAWR and MAWR trailers untill the whole game is spoiled before the release. It's perfect with the amount of content they had shown. Not too little, not too much.

How is this possible. If you play Halo 3 it is a pop up and on Bungie.net I always see new info on ODST on the front page which is a good thing.
