I love the way the idea is all organized. Its something I'd love to see in Halo: Reach.

Well then you could change that if you wanted to.

I think that the reason that they aren't in there now and won't be in Halo 3 ever is because bots need a path node system. In campaign they don't need these because there only goal is scripted movements and killing the player. Aside from that there are ones and zeros inside the rage machine that tells the brutes when to charge themselves or send a grunt etc.

Yes that would be alsome

  • 09.06.2009 3:26 PM PDT

this would be great for forge!
I like to build tombs and traps and stuff, I would love to have like an elite honor guard with an energy sword be the guardian of the "Tomb". And if you can get past the guards, then you have every right to claim whatever is in the tomb.

I'm not sure if your trying to act ignorant, or that is just the way you are, but I don't take kindely to people insulting me or my ideas without any kind of logical argument.

This thread is a suggestion to Bungie on something that could still be added to their upcoming game, Halo: Reach. If this was added, it would benifit everyone, including you. I'm not sure what kind of bias you would have to have, in order to feel that this would some how hinder you.

I was actually thinking about something like this when I wrote my thread.

Peace through superior firepower.

They meant they couldn't implement bots in Halo 3's Forge because there would be too much to re-work. Bots are almost like the enemies you fight in campaign, so it's limited to Forge.

Peace through superior firepower.

Not if they can follow the player. There's a way that the Elites could be AI as in a kind of free-thinking bot, and Grunts could try to follow them.

You arn't making much sense. Please either read more carefully, or ask for an explination before trying to disrespect my thread.

This would be great. I would def make a map that is all about stealth and avoiding patrols.

Kind of like an ODST themed map? You could make a dark, obstical filled map, where players could play every kind of gametype there currently is, while having to avoid enemy patrols. Could make a sick CTF game.

I agree, this would probably one of the biggest things Bungie has ever done. I did see one problem, though - In the Unique A.I. list you can only have 10 A.I.'s. I noticed that Drones are categorized in that section. Here's the problem - Drones almost always travel in swarms of 12-50.

I know you probably aren't even going to read this, but I suggest you put them in the Basic A.I. category, or you put them in their own category that can go to about 25, or 50.

There would probably be a lot of lag, though.

This is a great idea. A solution to lag that doesn't exist and disc space is like what ODST did. There can be 2 discs, one with campaign and matchmaking. And the other one with enhanced forge with simple AI, theater, and other things

I do spend alot of time maintaining my threads. I hear ya. All A.I. would be increadibly basic. They would follow a set path, having set animations. Just imagine a drone flying by, no real complex "swarming."

The unique catagory is for A.I. that are limited to certain weapons/movments. Brute Chieftans can carry just about any weapon, and wouldn't take up much more space than a grunt, so why limit them.

I'll take the support where I can get it. Oh well...

  • 10.05.2009 5:20 PM PDT

Yeah, that'd be pretty cool.

  • 10.05.2009 5:23 PM PDT

Bow Chicka Bow Wow!

I think you planned this out realy well. If Bungie added this to the forge for Reach then you could make even larger amounts of kick ass maps!

  • 10.05.2009 5:43 PM PDT

That would be so fun! so fun. maybe add al marienes try to fight covanate (excuse my spelling) al and so on you could engeneer battles!

  • 10.05.2009 5:56 PM PDT

I completley agree with this thread, however an option to select with which players the AI would be allied to or antagonized should also be availiable.
