Hey.

I would just like to suggest bungie add a squad system into this game if its going to Massive mulitplayer, as I have been reading.

The reason I'm saying this is because when its somthing like 50v50 or 100v100. ( I'm not sure the exact number of players per game/server.

Your going to need 3 things.

1. A commander to dirrect the attack/ defence.
2. Squad leader to dirrect the squad and issue orders that have been given by the commander.
3. Squad members to work together and fullfill these orders.

The Orders or objectives should look somthing like an arrow on your HUD showing where the commander/ squad leader wants you to move/ defend/ attack.

If you have any ideas that might beifit this idea feel free to reply or things you think that should not be added.

Thanks

Irony makes the strongest men fall to their knees!

I would say maybe honestly (you should have thrown that on the poll.)

Not to big with how some games did it, Bungie could get it to work but then again it's not my taste in games because I'm sure there would be one ass who would just spam the hell out of the HUD idea.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

This seems too bulky for 8 player teams.

It also complicates things drastically, while providing little in return.

Think of it this way:

A reason why Halo is so successful is that it appeals to the casual gamers, you pick up a controller, grab weapons, run around and shoot things. Its very simple, and yet these simple rules yield very chaotic "wtf" moments that keep people coming back.

Not all these casual players own a mic, and you really need a mic to do well in a squad based game. Thats just why I think its unlikely.

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

I would like a larger scale class based game. But IMO 50v50 is WAY too big. There would be no cohesion. Its tough enough in an 8v8. I would say the magic number would be 12v12, with 18v18 being the highest before it got too ridiculous.

For squads... they would work like parties. Go in as 4 people (if you go in with more than 4 people, you can form 2 squads in your party). The 4 people in the squad talk to eachother freely, pressing no buttons. The squad leader (person who started it) can talk with all other squad leaders by pressing the Dpad, and will relay orders accordingly.

People in your squad will have visible emblems above their head like in H2 and call signs as well like in H3. Number squads 1-? (whatever number max.) and players not in your squad will have their call-sign and squad number over their head, so you can quickly tell who is who (i.e. your squad leader says "Cheehwawa on squad 3 says they're moving up to grab the flag now" you can find the #3s and see it as Cheehwawa's flag, and know when they are moving in).

A massive Halo game would suck. The need for individual performance would be lost and the current weapon system wouldn't work.

The squad system is not that complex or advanced.. Its really quit simple..

Example:

1.Please select ( or what ever other button) to bring up list and squad list. Press A to see more info and say Y to join.
2. The first person to join/create is squad leader. others join/leave. But if the squad leader leaves the person with the highest rank/ or the first to join get the leader.
( This method would be simular with commander)
3. Then you see objectives ( Attack here- defend here- etc.) on your hud indicated by symbols.

Also, you are not forced to join a squad- they are there to make teamwork better, and make games go better for your team. ( and if your really going well, you make the other team game go worse)

yeah, thats pretty much what my idea of the squad system would be...

And thats why we would need it if Bungie would go *big* and do 50v50 or 100v100.
