I was in 5th grade. I popped in the Halo CE disc into the massive, clunky first generation Microsoft Xbox, and wrapped my small hands around the controller that was almost too big for me. Little did I know what I was getting into.
10+ years later, I still look up to my childhood hero, Master Chief, while everyone talks about He Man and Spongebob haha

I would personally just get it as something interesting to read. Like a magazine. Strategy guides also tend to reveal strategic areas that you didn't even know.
It's like buying the Halo series, except the magazines you're buying are actually exactly about the game. Something cool to skim through. I don't think they really help you that much, as it's in your player ability to get good at the game.
All the halo strategy guides I've read provide tips that are obvious and that everyone pretty much knows if you have live. Once you're a Halo veteran, you adapt pretty quickly and have a familiar feel with everything.
