We ALL know that the Covenant invade Earth, instead of GLASSING the whole friggin thing. We've even seen (recent) posts about their motivation to PERFORM such an invasion. My question isn't so much WHY, but more narrowed-down:
At the end of First Strike, we learn through some context clues or whatnot that the Covenant have indeed found Earth, and through the same rock the MC found on Cote D'Azur (spelling?) or another similiar one.
Are the Covnenat merely invading to gather all the valuable info, archives, history, etc we've amassed over the centuries, or are they in for the mere thrill of slaughtering each and every last one of us, turning our homeworld into some planetary WASTE DUMP?,...
...or are they gonna pull the same stunt they did after glassing most of Reach and dig deep for more Forerunner bullcrap?
Is there something beneath our feet that we've missed in our outer-space conquests? Is there some pivotal role our home may play to the new storyline? What might be found INSIDE earth that those bastards want so badly?!!
I personally think there's more to our planet (and our heritage as a species) involved with the forerunner than we know.
