Edable - Not to be mistaken with Edible, you cannot eat me unless i am in pie form, which only happens once every 371 years

You can jump in Halo 3: ODST
There are vehicles in Halo 3: ODST
You do have a semi-sheild, it's just nowhere near as strong as Halo 3's and is called Stamina.
Halo 3: ODST is not third person

The second one alone is enough to seperate it from Gears of War. The only similar thing is Firefight and i don't blame them for taking a popular game mode and adding their own twist to it, infact, i applaud them for it.

That kind of gamemode has been around forever. I've played movie tie-ins with it. It's more similar to Left 4 Dead.

I know Gears isn't the only game to have a gametype like this, it is however the example the OP used and is one of the more popular versions of it.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”
