Tokyo Rules isn't "Fabled", it's the prowler that dare came from.

What's with the sudden influx in negativity?
- I put "Fabled" because not much is known about it and it's almost like a rumor as to whether or not it will be in ODST
- To the "It's probably just a pelican" person: It's probably nothing, i'm just saying what i think/hope it is.
- It's definitely not Forward Unto Dawn or In Amber Clad because FUD, as far as i'm aware, wasn't at NM and IAC can be seen going through the Slipspace Rupture before this "object" appears.

Oh and EpicFailMan...Thanks :) (I didn't see [/sarcasm] so i'm guessing you meant it :)

Anyway, it's probably just a piece of scenary or a ship trying to escape the blast but i just think it could possibly be Tokyo Rules.

Out of interest where has the Tokyo Rules been mentioned, it doesn't say where it comes form on the halopedia page and I can't remember hearing it in any of the ODST material.

I honestly can't remember but as has been mentioned a couple of posts back, it's Dare's ship.

So...anyone got any other ideas as to what this "object" could be? (No this is not a feeble attempt at ressurecting my thread, i just want to hear other people's ideas to see if they're any more plausible than mine)

It could also be In Amber Clad

Win statement right there, that is good thinking.
No, IAC is in the cut scene too, it's to the right of the carrier.

I'm not the only person who saw it then? Thank goodness.

It seems that a few people are misguided on what the Prowlers stealth capabilities are. They do not have any kind of active Camouflage or anything like that. It's engines are blackened so that you cannot not see the exhaust/thrust that it creates. Its shape makes it invisible to radar. It is however painted as black as the void of space to keep it from being seen while in orbit over a planet or near other ships. If a prowler was that close to the planet, you would be able to spot it fairly easily. They're still not very big, but still easily spottable if they are only a few thousand feet from the surface.

...If you're going to accuse others of being wrong then make sure that you are atleast remotely right...
Prowler's engines are shut down when they go "stealthed". They are covered with a black matte Stealth Ablative Coating which is what stops radar from finding them (not the shape) and the black makes them almost impossible to see in space (which you were actually right about). You were also right about being able to spot them easily when they are that low to the ground.

Nice

Are you agreeing with me or just noting a semi-good theory? :D

Lol i didn't know what to say so I just said nice.... But after reading through it again I'm starting to agree with you.

One more for the cause! Whatever it may be... I'm personally still open as to what it may be but i would enjoy it so much more if it was Tokyo Rules so that's what i'm stickign with at the moment :)

Do a barrel roll!

Someone has good eyes. It could be a prowler but it could also be just a banshee.

Wouldn't the UNSC Tokyo Rules, or whatever it is, get smacked around from the slipspace rupture though? So there's a chance that the thing is destroyed anyway.

I was hoping someone would say this. I imagine a ship could survive getting rocked arond like that...The ship that the ODSTs drop from is still intact.

Ya but the ship where the ODSTs drop from is still in space, as you can see when you drop from it. *edit* But it is probable that the TR survived, unless it was near any tall structures or forced into the ground.

I think it is a Prowler because if you look carefully it pops out of thin air. As far as I know Prowlers are the only UNSC ships that have camo.

I wish I was still legendary.

Could be a longsword, from the shape...engines are the wrong colour though.

interesting.

The Prowlers don't have "camo"...They have Stealth Ablative Coating on them which makes them invisible to radar...They're also painted black so they are virtually invisible in space but whilst that low to the ground they would be very easily spotted. Perhaps they come out from behind a cloud or something, i dunno. Oh yeah, this object, in all honesty, is probably nothing so please don't agree with me without thinking about it (atleast for a minute or two :P)...I'd rather everyone thought what they rather than the first possible explanation of it :)

What i saw was like a small round, brown circle with two lights on it...The shape made me think it could be the back end of a Prowler...If a Prowler's shape is anything similar to that of a Halycon-class cruiser then it would have a round-ish rear end (inuendo not implied)

I just discovered what i believe to be the origin of Tokyo Rules, for those of you who were wondering...
Here, it says that the recipient is "PROWLER TOKYO RULES".

Oh, i do realise this is an old thread now but i figured people who were originally interested in it might want to know it's origins... Anyway, anyone else got an opinion of what this thing is?

You face an opponent who has never known defeat, who laughs in foreign tongues at your efforts to survive. This is Reply suicide.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

But when a HEV deploys it's "Air Brake" or "Parachute", doesn't it suddenly jerk UPWARDS?

Couldn't that be what we're looking at?

The object has two bits of light on it and it's travelling away (from what i see) so i doubt it's a HEV.
