For me, Reach should be an exciting new opportunity to not CHANGE the age old magnum, BR, Assault Rifle, Needler, (etc.), but to create an entirely new set of weapons. As I understand, Reach took place before the halo series, therefore isn't entirely tied down historically to what kind of weapons are available. For example, the weapons in Vietnam were older versions and different than in Iraq. The BR instead of being called the "BR" with a different spread, could be an entirely different mid-range weapon or like a prototype for the BR. I would like to not see many of the old weapons return from halo 3 for the sake of it being refreshing. i would like to see older or different technology used. Also I would like to see a different Elite armor, more compatible with spartan armor (easier to shoot?) Your thoughts?

and how!

The armor in the alpha stage didn't look good at all, the armor from the Beta stage and a little farther into development was battle damaged. The Mark VI, CQB, and EVA variants all had battle damaged looks to them, I don't see why they decided to drop that amazing detail for shiny new armor.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Halo Reach was IMMEDIATELY BEFORE Halo CE. The weapons were the same (Actually, the Pillar of Autumn LEFT Reach, and WOUND UP at Halo.

The option to have your armour in different states would be really good. You could choose to have a brand new gleaming perfect suit of armour or a more worn out battle damaged one to make you look like your a wizened warrior. OR that could be an interesting way of letting other players know how experienced you are by judging your armour. The more matches you play, the more battle scars you earn.
