IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ ALL OF THIS THEN JUST READ THE SECOND PARAGRAPH
So as I understand it the multiplayer that comes with the ODST game currently is exactly the same as the multiplayer that came with my Halo: 3 game disc when I first bought it. That is to say we play as spartans who run uberfast, take no fall damage etc.
What I want to know is if bungie would consider adding in through DLC (preferably free or at least cheap :D) a way to play Halo: 3 multiplayer as ODST soldiers instead of spartans. I'd also like to know if such an option would be appealing to the halo community.
The game models are already there, the physics are there, the maps are there, the engine is there. I of course have no knowledge of how programming actually works, but considering what's already done I would think it would be completely feasible to add in this option. It may take some time sure, but it's not like they're starting from square one it terms of developing a multiplayer mode.
This is starting to get a little long so you can stop reading here if you like since I've already made my main point, but you can keep reading if you like to see my logic behind this request.
To me the ODST game is a return to the game rules of the original halo, which I loved, but which I never played with anyone in multiplayer other than my friends. And to be honest I think I played both Halo 1 and Halo 2 multiplayer more than I played Halo 3 multiplayer. As soon as I unlocked the last of my armor parts (you know except for recon) I really didn't care about playing anymore. But that's just me.
Personal opinions aside, an addition like this makes sense financially for the company too. People are already griping about the game's scant features and price, but I bet a few more customers would be willing to pry open their dusty wallets if it meant a new multiplayer variant to an already great game.
Please keep comments clean and intellectual. Feel free to poke holes in my logic or language, but please do so in a respectful manner.
