Still using a pump-action shotgun over 500 years in the future I see.

omg not realistic stop game production plz

OK OK. I'm sorry that I'm bringing up this again . But I had an uber brainwave.

It's my theory that all the figures are Spartans, simple as. With the exception of the figure on the far left. It's my belief that he is a marine in a MJOLNIR Mk. II suit (these could be used by marines). I have evidence of why he is nearly the same size as the Spartans and has a wire from him,

Information from Halopedia
Mark II Prototype: The Mark II battle armor utilized a dramatically slimmed-down profile

So here we know that the Mark II was much smaller than the Mark I MJOLNIR (which, for reference, was about the size of a Cyclops). This explains the far left figure's close size to the Spartans.

but still required a tethered connection to a fusion reactor for power.

And this explains the wire from the figure! And here's my final snippet of information. Perhaps the Mark II marine was hooked up to a generator, which is convinient because that's what the UNSC needed defending. The Spartans then meet up with this Mark II armoured marine.

Discuss pl0x.

I think they said that Mark IIs were innefective and weren't very productive compared to an Mark V/VI so weren't used much...Good idea though.

But only Spartans can use Mk. V/VI, so why not give the marines who are defending the precious generators the best protection/firepower possible.

Touchdown! Hit it Marines!!

It's a nice theory, but I don't think a marine would even want to use the suit in combat. Their own moblity would give them a much better advantage in combat. And I always thought that little 'cable' coming off the left figure was the chain of ammunition for the chaingun... ? (On a side note, when I first saw the banner, I thought it was a tail hahaha; Super Saiyan Spartan, anyone? :D )

Didn't actual Spartans get crippled by the armor? I doubt a marine could handle that.

No...There was something about a Marine dieing from not being able to make his body keep up with his mind...The armor plugs into a neural interface (/your brain) and is wired directly from your thoughts. Spartans could keep up because of all their augmentations...A normal marine would be pulverised into mush.

Nope, that was a Marine that got crippled by the Mk.IV MJOLNIR (Which only Spartans can use).
Marines can use Mk.II MJOLNIR because in TFoR, the Spatans are trained by marines wearing early MJOLNIR prototypes.

Scandinavian Master Race!

But Mark II was a stationary armor.

Wednesday 13 is the best vocalist ever. /fact, not opinion

the people crippled by MJOLNIR was the marine wearing when he moved his arm up with his mind his body couldn't keep up so it literally pulled his arm out and the pain enduced spasms which were killing him

Marine's/Odst's cannot use MJOLNIR MK II armour, due to the fact they had not been given the augmentation that spartans had. In initially trials, volunteers bones were shattered to pieces by the incredible speed and force of the armour, only spartans could use the armour because one of the augmentations made their bones more dense (comparable to the strenght of iron) and virtually unbreakable

(this is according to the book, HALO:FALL OF REACH, which i recently re-read)

and this explains the wire from the figure
That's a ammo belt feeding into the turret gun he is holding

in the book there was a suit of armor but it had no power supply, it had to be hooked up all the time and they used it for loading ships mostly. when the spartans do training underground because they are to noticable they use it for capture the flag or king of the hill, i don't remeber. either way that could be it and a sign that we will play young spartans spanning a large chunk of the book.
