So when Halo 3 first came out I only had a standard def TV. After completing the campaign and playing online for a while I quit for a few months, in that time I got an HD.

I went back with a friend to do Couch co-op and was disappointed that it wasn't widescreen, will Halo 3: ODST sort this out and have widescreen couch co-op?

Sorry if this has been answered before but I dont read the boards much.

Snakie Purple.

"Hamdog, Hamdog, Hamdog, Hamdog"-Hamdog.

Twatter

I believe the game will support fullscreen solo play. But due to..er..I think it's contrast and sizing issues, two player same screen Co-Op will still have the "Black Gaps" on the sides of the screen.

In other words. I don't think anyone knows. But since the game runs on Halo 3's engine, I would expect it to be the same in that regard.

My troll sense is tingling.

Strange, when I played Halo 3 split screen co-op with my friend it was widescreen.

If you fail at something then redefine success.

Its because on your HD tv your Xbox 360 settings weren't set to 1080p I believe it only becomes widescreen when you set the settings to either 480p or 720p.

This was done intentionally by bungie, the reason for it is simple, bungie didn't want to give any advantages to people playing multiplayer split-screen as they would have extra field-vision, i.e. they would be able to see further to their left and right.

I suppose for campaign they could implement widescreen split screen however, bungie will probably opt for consistency for the field vision, i.e you will see as far to the left and right in campaign as you will in multiplayer

Its the same, black bars on either side of the screen im afraid for the above reason, if you need proof have a look at some videos of either e3 or comic con (i think thats the one i saw) and you can see people playing and it has the black bars, sucks i know, kinda defeats the point of having a wide screen lol

No, it was 1080p. He just got a new HD tv and he changed the setting to 1080p. And he invited me to his house to check it out.
